Title: Ju87 can't take off
Post by: Ryusei on December 11, 2004, 11:55:24 AM
Hiya AHers, this is indeed my first post.
Ju87 with either an 1.8k kg or a 1k kg bomb loaded can't take off unless jettisoning the load.
This happens as soon as throttle is added.  just trembling on the runway no matter what fuel %.
Is this a bug?  It hadn't happened 'til downloaded the latest patch 5.

This has happened to me in La5, la7 and spitV (all the planes I have flown since patch 5) This never happen before. I am still able to take off because it goes away after about 5-10sec. This is either a new feature or bug. On the runway when I go full throttle the planes vibrates vilolently but stays in one spot.

I have a 2600+ xp amd processor with a 128MB radeon 9800pro and 1 GB ddr cas 2.5 ram (i just upgraded ram - can this be an issue?)

I will video it tomorrow and send - it is very repeatable

Ive not experienced this myself, but ive seen it in TA this afternoon.

Saw a Ju87 sitting on rw at a1, just whipping on his wingtips not moving. Dont know about loadout.

Got a three sec movie if needed.

Already sent film in to HTC. For me it didn't matter what loadout was used on the Ju87. I also noticed it to a lesser degree in all the other planes I flew since 2.01 patch 5 was released.

I had the same issues with my P-40 with a drop tank.  It would act like the brakes were on and the plane would just shake violently when you advanced the throttles.  I think I had to to some combination of brakes and slow input of throttle.  I know one time I adjusted my position on the runway with hard rudder inputs.

Anytime it happenend I could take off eventually just took some screwing around to get it to go.

Ive experienced the problem before the patch, In Lancs on the runway.  There have been times when it seemed the wheels were glued to the runway.  My squadies who were launching at the same time had no problem.  I had to tower out and reup to get it going good.  Has to be some sort of bug.

I noticed that after my JU-87 wouldn't take off, the next plane a Typhoon w/2x1,000, shook far a few seconds before it was ok. It didn't do it agin on the next flights.

Same problem here with P-47d11 and drop tank.

Gonna try 25% fuel clean and see if weight is a factor.

EDIT: Still a problem on 47D11 with 25% and no DT.  And it definitely started happening in path 5, I'd been flying the D11 almost exclusively.

Doesn't happen with A6M2 and 25%, clean though.

Thank you for a lot of replies.
Well.. so the weight may be the issue, and noticed the similar problem occur in many type of planes.
I will wait until the new patch correct all these problems.
p.s. SBD & Type 99 Val had no problem.

I just noticed that my left brake was out of calibration. This might have been the reason for strange behaviour of aircraft with wheels on the ground.

I've had it in a hvy A8. Most disconcerting.

Curiously enough i had that same problem today after reloading my Hurri IIc at A202. Had to exit flight after one wing broke off while trying to taxi. Plane just kept sitting in one spot, shaking.

It really starts affecting the game.

Edit:

Seems to be a consistent problem, as it happened again today. Couldnt restart taxiing after coming to a halt close to rearm pad at A189. Rearming hadnt started, no DT, 75% fuel on Hurri IIc. Plane started shaking, then flipped over the nose.

Same here but only in P47-D40.  Weight loadout didn't seem to make a difference.

Zap

Edit:  It will take off in after about 2-5 seconds of shaking around with not input from me.  Just sits there and shakes then finally does a normal rollout and take-off.

It seems like your brakes are stuck in full on, then some planes have enough power to unstick them, others like the Stuka are stuck permanently.

Check the calibration of your brakes...

My brakes are on the keyboard, not mapped to stick nor do I have rudder pedals.  There is no way to calibrate them in that situation right?

Same here... and then this problem seems to be plane related, not a general one.

Squaddie had it with a heavy P38, after removing rockets but leaving 2x1000lbs on, it took off OK.

Happens with SpitV, sometimes after using left or right wheelbrake (not always after brake use). She can brake free when playing with throttle input without damage.

Edit: Hadnt seen Pyros news post yet. Thanks for fixing this!
