Was at the movies tonight with some friends and Mrs. Bodhi, and we were leaving, and there was some kid in a radio station SUV who parked in a handicap zone out front. As I watched a car with a handicap tag was looking for a spot to park, no other handicap spots are open. They said something to the kid, who mumbled something (I could not hear it) and they drove off looking peeved. I walked up and said that it was a handicap place and he should move. He replied for me to that he did not give a sh*t and then said to mind my own shrecking business. I took out the phone shot 3 pics of the vehicle and him, as he gave me the finger.
So, I am going to send an email on monday to the head of the radio station, anyone else you guys my might think of to send them to?

My wife was not embarrassed, she felt it was wrong too. Maybe when you realise that not all people are not like suburban yuppie pinheads willing to close their eyes to the world so long as it does not disturb their Land Rover Discovery, look-a-like home on 1/4 acre postage stamp, and border collie, you will understand why I took my time to confront an idgit.
Doubtful that you would understand though... maybe you can consult your DNC rulebook for guidelines on how to reply.

And of which Holmes are you speaking of? I've heard of John Holmes. Are you also implying that Bhodi is lying about the photos simply because he will not post them despite all the people asking him to post them repeatedly and in various posts in this thread?
I just want you know that I find this extremely outlandish, even for a Candadian. I'm sure that if Bhodi had this pictures and several people in this thread had asked appropriately then he would have posted said pictures.
But I don't recall anyone having asked 'please' yet.

I got up this morning, ran to my computer to see the pics of Bodhi's illegal parker, and....STILL no pics!! I knew it was BS, because Bodhi lives in a gated Republican Community, and they don't have handicapped parking spaces in gated Republican communities...They also don't have FM radio in gated Republican Communities.... Come to think of it, they don't allow belligerent young people in Gated Republican Communities, either. And the only movies they show are John Wayne movies in gated Republican Communities.

If the place had security, all you had to do was get ahold of them. They are in charge of having such people taken care of. Depending on the property owner/manager's policy, the vehicle would have been towed and impounded right off the bat, or the police would have been called and the same thing done, only with a fine attatched as well. I believe first time offenders get 500 buck fine for illegally parking in a handicapped stall (depends on the state), and if he was using one of the hanging tags that carries a much larger fine in most states for illegally displaying a handicapped emblem.
And for the diff. beteween the license plates and the hanging tags, anyone who can show they will be disabled for a minimum of 1 year (in some places as little as 90 days) can qualify for a temporary hang tag (temp usually lasts about 3 years IIRC). The plates require permanent disability. Either one requires you to take a letter from your doctor to the DMV along with a completed application.
State gov. are starting to crack down on people who misuse those temp hang tags. Because they are so much easier to get than the plates, and because they usually are good for much more time than the temporary disability that gave rise to the need for them, they tend to get passed around or even sold (and stolen). Take the pics to the cops, if they can read the number on the bottom of the tag they can run it and find out who it is registered to. The tags are almost always registered to a PERSON, btw, and not to a specific vehicle. This way whoever is driving the handicapped person around can park without fear in the handicapped stalls. I'm betting the kid with the van wasnt the one it was registered to. (Although he may have been mentally handicapped, I dont think that counts for parking.)

Send the pics to the radio station. He is creating a very bad impression and they derserve to know. Find out who owns the radio station (clear channel or Viacom probably) and copy their president. Ask what they intend to do.
And let us know what happens.

Wulfe, there's two types of conservative posters here- those that talk the talk and those that walk the walk.
People like Rude, Toad, Maverick, Mielta, AKIron, Lazs and many others have developed their conservative POV based upon their life's experiences, and I'd believe without question what they say... these are honorable, good honest men, and I can disagree with them without disrespecting or disliking them. They walk the walk.
OTOH the "talkers" like to post about situations where they are on the front lines of the War on Liberalism, so they scour the Internet looking for more aggregious examples of "liberal assault," photographs showing what they claim are mainstream Democrats chained to trees, articles condemning liberal thinking, etc....
And the "talkers" don't discuss issues, mostly because they haven't taken the time to study the issues- so they resort to name calling and personal character attacks. They believe liberals are evil, so if anyone disagrees with their narrow view of a black and white world then they explain it away by dismissing you as less than them, or crazy, an America Hater, a troll... How do you respond to "You hate America" or "You want to see America defeated in Iraq?" You don't- in fact, you can't, because if you say "Wait a minute, I served honorably" then they claim you're bragging.
Take what these conservative talkers say with a grain of salt- they are so fervent in their search for Liberal Wrongness they uh....sometimes embellish.
And take what the conservative Walkers, those who are principled men who believe in honor, to the bank. And understand that neither the left nor the right has a monopoly on character, principles and honor.
Just because we think it's OK for men to marry men doesn't mean we on the left lacy morality. ;)

Bodhi, first, ignore everybody here that's too intent on bashing everyone opposed to their political views. When you've filtered those and gotten the handful of useful replies, try this:
Email all the pics you took, with a blurb on what happened, to your local news station. Make sure they're not owned by the same companies. Do the same with the newspaper. It may actually get a mention (especially with pictures) and if that ever even showed up in the middle of the paper, it would cost that station advertisers. That'd be the best shot at getting the salamander fired. "Radio station employee abuses the handicapped" would make an interesting story.
I don't know how a bunch of you turned this into a political hatefest. Manners should be universal.

I have gone three steps further and sent it to the NAHP, Denver Post, 4 TV News, all the other radio stations not owned by Clear Channel, 8 different advertisers that I have heard on their station, and I am thinking of renting a bill board (someone else is paying for it), all because of the phone response I received this moring from Clear Channel.
Hopefully they apologise publicly, but I doubt Clear Channel has it in them.

btw, the only reason I did not post the pics first was I wanted a response from them first. Well, I received it... mighty interesting one, but I will inform you all when it is appropriate.
Oh, and I do not dislike you AIrhead, even though your duality would rival the dispute between AI and consciousness.... the only thing I do expect is a certain level of respect outside the politics... and again I appreciate it.

My mom is has a placard and needs it since she can barely walk.
I get to wheel her around the mall in a wheel chair for xmas shopping.
Last year I pulled into target driving her car, with her in it. Pulled into a handicapped spot, and was getting out when I noticed a VERY anoyed looking cop pull in behind me.
before he saw my mom he asked me for my ID and the paperwork for the placard, I just smiled and my mom got and gave it to him. Why was I smiling? Cause I am glad the enforce this stuff.
