I have never flown/ridden on a jetliner before. I certainly want to soon though. I have flown small prop planes though.
-
Have you ridden on a bus?
Same idea.
-
You've never been abroad?
-
Farthest I have been away from my home is 1200 miles. But we drove.

Ahhh, when I saw the title, I thought you were asking about figter jets... I bet you'd have had many more replies then :)
I've traveled quite a bit, my advice is: Go to Hong-Kong... fly "Cathay Pacific" ... trust me, you'll thank me :)

Agreed with Saw 100%. Even better would be Singapore Airlines.
-
Was about to mention them, but haven't used them since 1978... I see it's still good :)
Never NEVER fly BA... "they"(*) are terrible.
* - "they" are the reason I told you to go with CP ;)

lol...economy class in BA (777 jets only) beats any of the US airlines business class.
You guys have een spoiled flying Cathay Pacific. Never been to the Far East so I haven't had the chance to try it, but I've heard that it is amazing.

I've heard that BA is excellent. We've had several people flying over to France from our group who've flown both SAS and BA (we don't have a choice when the company books our flights) and they've said BA hands down.
They're still trying to recruit me to go over to France 4 times a year but unfortunately I cannot because my wife would have to take vacation time if I left the country for business.
This is the seating arrangement for BA that our analysts get to fly in.

Cathay Pacific sucks.
The seats in economy are the smallest I have ever flown in. I have used them twice for flights to Hong Kong. The first time someone stole a leather jacket from my checked bag (only took them 6 months to send me a cheque for a replacement).
The second time I was so cramped after the flight I could hardly stand up.
United is much better and so is Air Canada if you are going cross the pacific in Economy. For business class don't fly KLM as it is just economy with bigger seats.

Habu, trick is not to fly economy ... or have a smaller arse :p
Curval, I was talking about the ladies that serve you drinks :)

No argument there...Asian women are HOTTTTTT...I know, I married one. ;)
-
They have economy sections on overseas flights?
I was referring to Business and First Class in Cathay and Singapore.
-
One answer to the whines on commerical flight...
fly corporate.
-
I fly economy because I own my own business and I would rather take the 1000 dollars I save on the ticket and spend it on something else.
Spending 100 hr to sit up front in the business section is a waste of money when you can fly a different airline and get a very comfortable seat and meal and not put up with the cramped seating in Cathay.
When I worked for Schlumberger I used to fly First Class out of Nigeria and then around the world every time I had days off. Had to do with the currency exchange rates and my travel allowance.
I can tell you that after the initial novelty wears off First Class is not all that fantastic as well.

I was the same. I could fly light aircraft before I ever flew in a jet airliner. In fact I had a Commercial pilot's licence before I could drive a car. Mainly because I spent all my money on flying and couldn't afford to fly abroad or anything more expensive than a motorcycle. :) .
