Title: P51 Vibratring Brakes
Post by: Midnight on December 13, 2004, 11:21:41 AM
In both the P-51B and P-51D - When at a full stop, if you apply left or right brakes and then increase throttle (to turn around from rearmming for example) the whole aircraft begins to shake violently.

Letting off the brake does not stop the shaking. You must reduce throttle to idle to get it to stop.

If you apply too much throttle while the plane is shaking, the gears and wings break off. Unfortunately, Blckshp and I discovered this bug after rearming on Friday Night Squad Ops.

You don't have to touch the brakes to cause do the "parking brake shimmy".  With the throttle at idle apply full rudder one way or the other, then advance the throttle.  Gotta pull back to idle and return the rudder to neutral and then advance the throttle to stop the shake.

Basically don't apply rudder until after you start moving it seems
