Title: Ki84 Flap Damage
Post by: Engine on December 15, 2004, 10:01:52 AM
Seems when flaps are extended in the Ki84, and one is knocked off by damage, the FM still behaves as though that flap were extended.

I'll post a film the next time it happens.

That's not isolated to the Ki84, I think it's common to all aircraft (or at least many of them).  I have it on the P38 pretty frequently.

it's been like that since AHI. a damaged flap is actually a "stuck" flap although it shows missing visually.

Okey, Skuzzy was in the MA and told me to post it here, so here it is.

Too bad, I was hoping it was a bug.

I wish they'd fix it tho, as you can pull IN a flap if it's still there, but you often can NOT leave the other flap out. If you want to get out of a fight that means a dive and/or speed, but with a stuck flap that means losing control and/or an uncontrollable spinning dive.

When a flap gets shot off it should STOP affecting the plane!

What HTC needs to do is to code the missing flap to fully retract when it's shot off. Doesn't seem that hard a solution.
