I am not sure what you mean by "porked".  I had to reboot the arena for the new skin updates today.

What is wrong with it?

Slash, I reloaded the tables last night, after this post, so unless there were some custom settings, it should have been good to go.

Shouldn't be aoutomatic tables reloading option should be added for AH servers......

It is happends lots of times that terrain become porked because of different reasons - like arena reloading or just someone had captured 3rd country by mistake.

Is it complicated to implement automatic tables upload after rebooting of arena from different reasons.

It will be very helpfull for CT players when they will not have to wait for CM to get home and reload the tables.

Thanks Skuzzy.

The reason they do not automatically reload, when an arena reboots, is done to keep a bad table from causing a terminal reboot.

Is there maybe a way to set a threshold for the amount of reboots? Say, it rebooted x times in x minutes it would not reload the tables at that point.

How about do a CRC on the table after it loads successfully.  If it needs to reload the table automaticly check the CRC.  If it passes reload it...  if it doesn't load system defaults .....

Guys, this is stuff we have already thought about.  CRC does not work when an error is accidently programmed into the table settings.
Reboot counting does not work for many reasons.  You are assuming things go well to a point, but if you do not get to that point, then you are stuck.

Darn,

I was hoping you could validate data in a table before recording the CRC...

Looks like were stuck with manual intervention  :(

The table can contain valid data, but still cause a problem, depending on the terrain.

Old terrian vs new terrain?

Not at all.  Could be an undiscovered bug in the terrain, much like we had with some of the big maps in the MA recently that caused the arena to randomly reboot.
The software systems in all this are pretty complex.  Errors will happen.  A condition can occur we did not think about.

Heck, I could go one for pages on this.

Ok, I've got it. We can attach a boot to an end of a hydraulic leg. Every time it goes down it will automatically kick it. Problem solved :aok

Thanks for the replay and I do assume that you have been thinging on this option,.......

Only I'd like to add that this issue seems to have little bit higher priority and I think someway (with thresholds or other heuristic rules) it could be resolved and the "proked terrains" will not prevent from CT player to relog to MA.

Thanks,
