I recently assembeld a new box and im not real happy with it thus far. Although I may be expecting to much from it, not really sure. Here is what I have....

350 Watt PS
40 gig western HD
1Gig 2700 DDR
AMD Athlon XP 2500 clocked to a 3200
Sound Blaster Live
PNY GeForce 6800GT Video card
Win XP Pro
All the stuff Skuzzy listed in the "Hints and Tips" thread is turned off.
Im using the latest Nvidea drivers.
Im at 1024x768 resoulition with texture set at 512.
My FR while flying solo is around 60, in the Furr its around 30

potential issues...
1) you may have your refresh rate capped at 60 either/or both the in-game vid refresh or display (monitor) refresh. could also be a 60fps refresh bug related ot the vid drivers.
2) when the fps drops in furballs (some is to be expected) in part due to the fps cap in #1 - have you tried tweakng the graphics slider (in-game)?
3) maybe the lastest drivers aren't the best... ask around for people who may be using a better set.
4) try reducing the 512 to 256?

Ya lost me here..... what is the graphics slider? Sorry if thats a stupid question.

when you're in the MA (online in AH2), click on your video settings and find the 3 slider (vertical) adjustment bars.

You only have a 350W supply with that system? Keep an eye on it.

What kind of problems can I expect? I know its on the edge as the video card requires a 350 watt power supply.
Should I just upgrade it now? Will there be any warning signs?
Thx.... Dave

Power supplies going bad can cause every kind of problem imaginable.
For what I see you have, I would have personally gone with a 480W Antec Trupower power supply. 430W minimum.
Switching power supplies work well when under approximately 80% load. Getting higher than that can strain them, usually causing them to put out 'dirty' power which can cause some early component failures due to heat buildup from dealing with the ripple in the power.

I wouldn't panic too much. If you havn't too many peripherals and everything is running good, it will be ok. Just watch if you add a HD or CD or anything.
A lot actually depends on the quality of the PSU too.
