Title: X45 Rotaries
Post by: Zaphod on December 16, 2004, 10:06:41 PM
Hey All,

I have a Saitek X45 and was wondering if the rotaries could be used for trim control.  Currently the stick is set up within AH and I would like to keep it that way if possible.  I still use CT exclusively except when locked up in a dive.  I would like to start using manual trim but really would like it on the rotaries.

Thanks Zaphod

Yes, it's possible. Just go to the "Select joystick" (under the game settings, controls, joystick) and there you can map the rotaries to be used as trims. For example select "pitch trim" from the list and map it to "Rotary 1".

Thanks I'll try it.  I tried it with AH1 and it didnt work but I seem to recall something about AH2 working with x45 rotaries.  I had no idea how to get that done.  Thanks again.

I have an X36 usb (older version of the 45) and could not use the stick map in AH2 I was able to get it to work though here is what I did.

Use the saitek mapping software, and set the rotaries to use bands leave a dead spot at the detent.

Set the trim to increase on one side of the dead zone and to decrease on the other side.  This has been working for me for both versions of Aces High.

Hmmm...I tried that and couldn't get it to work. Maybe I just got P.O.ed  before I figured it out. Maybe I'll mess with it again this weekend and see if I can get it to work..

Did you remember to calibrate them?
