WTF were they doing that low to the ground?  Looks like at least one of the pilots made it out.

The explosion towards the end of the video looks like the ejection seats firing

There's no such problem.  But you have to watch that bad sushi.

It's that and a mix of other explosians.  I can't tell wich one is punching out first but if it is the Forward seat then the back seater is a dead man.

I have never seen footage of this accident from this angle.  I cant imagine what those people felt...

I seem to remember that both crew punched out and lived - so file it under yet  another spectacular demonstration of the K36 seat...

Looked like the backseater punched out first. Makes you wonder how that stuff happens. Airshows around here don't permit the aircraft to fly over the audience at all.

Didn't see the video, is it a Lvov catastrophe with a Su-27 hitting the crowd?

You can make a search on this BBS, keywords "boroda lvov airshow pilot". It was discussed here after it hapened.

Their security measures were awful. But nevertheless here in Russia they cancelled aerobatic programm on several shows... :(

Why's that? I think you work on fighter seats (or something like that)

Hope they both made it, and that the folkls on the ground...died really really fast...poor batages

He wasn't that close to the ground on purpose.  Something had to have happened prior to this.   Maybe coming out of a loop to low and entering a 'high speed stall'  and drifting into the crowd as he tried to regain control.

For the brief time you see it the plane it looks to be more 'out' of, than 'in', control and basily flying in Ground Effect.

May those that died RIP....

On a single canopy A/C the Back Seater almost allways has to go first.  If the Fwd pilot punches first his rocket catapult will completly scorch the aft cockpit making the backseater have an even worse day.

The Delay on a 2 seat F16 is 0.33 seconds.  In most cases the seats can go solo but its not advisable.
