Title: Hard time programming hat switch
Post by: Enduro on August 19, 2001, 07:39:00 PM
Hello, AH pilots.   :)

I have a Sidewinder Force Feedback with a hat, of course, but the hat - for now - is only recognizing 3 positions (left, right and back).   I have been in the joystick mapping section of AH's setup in order to map the other 5 important views (up/forward, left/forward, left/back, right/back, right/forward and up/front).  However, AH doesn't seem to recognize the changes that I'm trying to make.

Here is what I'm doing (please tell me where I'm messing up):
1) I click on a button in the mapping section (example: the 1st hat "UL" button).
2) I hold down the "4" and "8" buttons on the keypad, and
3) I click on "Set Button".
result:  AH doesn't recognize my new setting for the "UL" button.

So, I tried this:
1) I click on the 1st hat "UL" button, again.
2) I hold my hat switch in the left/forward position, and
3) I click on "Set Button".
result:  still, AH does not recognize my new settings for the "UL" button.

What is it that I'm doing wrong?  I must be missing a key stroke somewhere.  Any assistance you provide will, of course, be greatly appreciated!   :)  Thank you!
