if you didn't see the game i posted a picture of the incident.
i for one am appaled someone would do something like this in a game. not just because of it being my team, this kind of hit should be grounds for explusion from the league permanently. you can kill someone like that.
thank God the feeling has come back to robert ferguson's legs, but other than that there is no local news yet.
there was a local report of the jaguars players saying it was a legal, and clean hit, and they stand by their player. who in there right mind would support a player that does this?
i hope he gets hit by a bus and dies a horrible painful slow death.

I watched it and there was no way in hell it wasn't on purpose.
To me it looked like a very cheap shot.
He should miss some games and get a large fine at the very least.

DAY-UMM!!
-
Yall see Farve hit the ref with the football. I laughed pretty hard.
-
Darius brings the wood that's for sure. I've seen worse though. Jack Tatum would make Darius look like a ***** :lol
-
Ouch. I haven't seen a cheapshot like that since Sapp stuck that guy in the playoffs 2 years ago when the ball wasn't anywhere close.
-
Most rookie recivers and even vets are afraid to catch a pass from Farve.
That shot was cheap. And I might add that the jaguar players were also pissed at whats his face for the stunt he pulled.
The thing that amazes me still is the fact the ferguson held on to the dam ball even after he hit the ground and rolled over twice.
Amazing.
The pack had a bad night. They are my team. I love them. Farve had four interceptions, altho one should have been a completion. Jaguars played the game harder and faster is all. Sucks because I always like to see a southern team freeze to death on the frozen tundra. They handled themselves quite well... Up until the attempted beheading. Then I just hated all of them even more.
Edit: I remember Sapp from the bucaniers used to be an animal on the feild. He never got this bad, but he was very agressive... He stood out.
-
I suppose Jack Lambert, Dick Butkus, and Lawrence Taylor should be on Death Row? What a bunch of candyarses the NFL is today. They should just make them all keep a pair of pink silk panties hanging out of their pants and play flag football.

Sapp is/was an animal on the field. Been my starting DT for a few years across the various video games :) Basically, he hammered Clifton from the Packers, and did a dance celebrating the hit. Ended up putting the guy in the hospital. I think it was partly misunderstanding, if he'd known he'd almost crippled the guy, he wouldn't have been dancing... but he didn't need to try to maim somebody that had no influence on the play either, even if it was a legal hit.

I would say they are paid enough to take the hits.

What's wrong with that? You are supposed to have contact in "football", right?

You are. It's a question of sportsmanship though. It's not smiled upon when you put people in the hospital.
-
It's a legal hit... get over it.
-
No
someone that has 3 steps to plan his hit and chooses to arm bar the other guy in the throat over all the other spectacular options available to him doenst belong in the game.

Used to be called a "clothesline" and was definately illegal. Lots of guys seriously hurt like that.
-
Clothesline is definetly not legal. Lyle Alzado is the reason they banned it back in the 80's
-
the blow to the head is illegal. He caught him under the chin.
I can't believe people are getting upset at discovering that the goal of 99% of defenders in the league is to actually hurt the the guy with the ball by hitting them as hard as they can.

For your information..
Darius, would never ever ever do that to anyone, everyone on the Jaguars football is religious and would never do that to anyone on purpose..
It was a bad hit, misjudged, but never ever think Darius would do that to someone, I was watching the game, and you could see Darius was worried for the player, he didn't leave the field until he was told to by the officals, not because he was objecting but because he was worried...
I don't appreciate you wishing a slow and painful death on someone...
Also if you notice Darius is in the air, and the guy who caught the ball, is just landing, he came down faster then Darius judged, there for he gets closthelined

Right, the green smelly cheese head packer fans and all the sissy are just crying over the fact that it was a very good hit and that is an objective in football. hurt the other guy.

The Hitman. Damn, yeah.
-
$75,000
guess the league aggrees, unnessary hit
-
The league office has turned into a bunch of ******* too. Maybe they should fine ESPN for showing the hardest hits of the games in the highlights. Or ask the media to stop showing this hit over and over and over and over again (I saw it 20 times while watching MNF at a restaurant).
Everyone loves stuff like this because it gives them a reason to be incensed.... outraged.... and feel somewhat superior to the free-safety on the field.
Maybe the league should come up with a "no hits above the waist" policy to minimize the risk of something like this happening again. Hell... they already have it for quarterbacks.

In a news article here in Jacksonville..
Darius said, this kind of tackle is used alot by safetys, it's used to attempt to dislodge the ball from the players hands. But the player pulled the ball down too fast...
Which is what I said...
Hmm imagine that..
