Title: Snow in Desert, Pinnacle Peak Patio.
Post by: NUKE on December 21, 2004, 08:52:30 PM
Anyone ever been here?

Well, this pic is from about 15 years ago. I have a bunch of others from this day....snowman, cactus,  and everything.

Basically it's Phoenix and snowing pretty well in the desert.

WOW that's cool.  THe desert I around me doesnt have snow but all the mountains here do.....plus if you drive 40 min north to tehachapi usually you'll find snow there.

Right now we are having a 45 degree difference  between night and day.  Its freakin weird.

Cool pic.  We can have a 45 degree difference in an hour here, and usually do 3-4 times a year.

This steakhouse is kinda famous ( google pinnacle peak patio) and snow is VERY rare here, let alone this much.

I always have wondered if the place would buy my pic......but watermelon on that.....unless they wanna pony up some big cash, I'm keeping my artistic  integrity

If you were smart, you would make an 8x10, frame it and get a free dinner.

Nuke, ate there many times while I was in pilot training at Willie. Good food; I like Riata Pass a lot too. Is it still there?

Yup I know exactly what night you're talking about my wife was driving home that night from lake elizabeth through the mountains and was lucky to make it home.

I live on Edwards AFB, and I guess it hasn't snowed here in 10 years.  We would have gotten snow that night had it been a tad bit cooler.  Got sleeting rain instead.

Last time we had enough snow to stick on the ground in Tucson was in 87. Nasty cold stuff!

I was showing this pic to some guys at work and realised that the car looks photoshoped.

Anyway, I took this digital pic by using my digital camera and taking a picture of an actual photographic  4x6" print.....ala copystandish.

Great steakhouse though.
