What would be your dream plane if you could have it in AH?
Not a realistic plane, but just a plane that you have maybe thought like what if??? Now no, missles please ;)
I think my dream plane would be either a Pony B or a F6F with 4 hispanos :)
What a kick-butt package that would be! :)
Please Santa?

This is a very cruel question and you should be a shamed to get us all thinking about it. However if I could have any aircraft from WWII it would have to be a Bristol Beaufighter with 4 20mm in the nose for knocking down all those HO'ers. LA LAs and N1Ks beware....

What Moot said ^
(http://www.onpoi.net/ah/pics/users/147_1103880863_f7fcat.jpg)
History: In early 1941, Grumman began design-work on a new twin-engined fighter for the War Department, for use on a planned larger Midway-class aircraft carrier. On June 30, 1941, Grumman was awarded a contract to build two prototypes, the first of which flew in December 1943. The XF7F-1 Tigercat was unusual for a fighter, with its shoulder-mounted wings, twin underwing-mounted engines, all-metal construction and tricycle landing gear.
Before the prototype even flew for the first time, Grumman was contracted to build 500 of them for the US Marine Corps, to be used as close-support aircraft for the massive landing operations then underway in the Pacific. Delivery began in April 1944. The first 34 F7F-1s were similar to the prototypes, then 30 two-seat night-fighter variants (called F7F-2Ns) were produced. Next, 189 single-seat models called F7F-3s were built which featured slightly more powerful R-2800 engines, slightly larger vertical stabilizers, and a 7% increase in fuel capacity.
Much of the original order for Tigercats was cancelled after VJ-Day, and they never saw operational service in WWII. Less than 100 Tigercats were built after the war as night-fighters (F7F-3N and F7F-4N), electronic reconnaissance (F7F-3E) and photo-reconnaissance (F7F-3P) platforms, but higher-performance jet-powered airplanes soon replaced the Tigercat in the US Marine Corps. During the 1960s and 1970s, a few were gradually sold as surplus and converted to fire bombers or aerial photography ships.

From everything I've read the F7F was the most "advanced" aircraft of the prop era. It was a truely multidimensional plane....basically the F-14 of its time. Capable of 430+ speeds but could out turn an F6 and outclimb everything but an F8F...had 4 x 20mm+4 x .50 cal and could carry 2 x 1000 + a torpedo....a true "strike fighter" 40 years ahead of the concept.....would of dominated either front if introduced in June of 44....
-
I'd love to see one of those "Super Jugs" I've heard so much about, P-47N was it? Or even an early war French plane or two, or maybe a Commonwealth Boomerang, or, or! Oh man! Only 15minutes left here to make the wish and I can't narrow it down!
I'll take anything they come up with, really :)
(Happy as anything you 38 fans will finally have some other versions to play with, yet eagerly anticipating whatever is next after those)

With an optional perked loadout of one (1) small atomic device...about 19kt would do it, just like the hiroshima bomb. Maybe 100 perks?
Think of the look on their faces as you fly over the base and let 'em have it.

it would be a blast ..... (tee hee) the whole arena flying b 29's only and every base getting knocked off .... then the buff battle's that would go on afterwards would be terrific .

B-25H with the 75mm cannon in the nose to go along with its dual side mounted 50 cal. twin packs and its 6-50 cal. in the nose. Have one of those for taking out VHs, GVs, ships, etc.

I kinda suspect that when you guys get the buffalo you're going to be a tad disappointed. The "exchange" rate was due to the difference in pilot quality and motivation, it had very little to do with the actual airplane. The buffalo will get hammered by everything in AH except possibly the C-47.
Still would be very cool to see it - I could use the easy kills :D .
Cheers,
asw

We have a D-13 here at the Museum of Flight in Seattle and it has 3-20mm. It's also air worthy. They fired it up just before they brought it up here. It's also for sale for around $3.5m if anyone is interested.(http://

Ah yes The B-29 is my number one wish.... NO nuke, just the best bomber in the world at that time. The B25H would be a hoot too.

confused.. how?
you do know the 335 had a prop in the rear of the plane also, making it a twin engine, 1 pushing 1 pulling. fastest prop plane of WWII IIRC.
-
The profiles kinda look alike... well, excluding the props and all.
