Title: Baarlo, Netherlands?

Hiya,

we were planning a trip to the Eurocon (http://www.1strof.com/eurocon/home.html)  in Baarlo, Nethrlands in February. I checked the Michelin online road map, didn't see any airports closer than Amsterdam.. So how far is it from Amsterdam to the Con? Thanks in advance...

One option would be to take Germanwings (http://www.germanwings.com/) to Cologne/Bonn. Their cheapest fare is 19€, and it's closer than Amsterdam.(100km)

Another option is Ryanair, from Tampere-London-Weeze or Eindhoven.

And of course Blue1 to Amsterdam.

Schaden - I'm going, with Tomato. I've been most years since 2000. I used to be in a WB squad with the guys hosting the event, so I know them quite well. We used to fly purposeful missions with a declared objective - none of this stupid 2K weed wacking nonsense. :rolleyes:

We're flying into Amsterdam. I think we'll rent a car there and drive, though on past Eurocons I've used the excellent Dutch train system to get to the con location. For the go-kart race, the organisers lay on a coach.

If you go by train from Schipol airport, they will print out a sheet of instructions (in English if you want it) explaining exactly which trains you need to get and where to change, the exact timings and even the platform numbers.

It's near Venlo, took us about 2 hours on trains from Amsterdam to get there last time.

I'll have to skip the EuroCon this year, sorry. I don't know about the other Finns, at least Grendel might still be coming this year (what I've heard..)

Hopefully I'll meet you guys some other time - and have fun! :)
