Title: How do I aim TG 5" guns?

I'm amazed by the gunnery of shipboard gunners.  I'm convinced any kills I get of airborne targets are pure luck.  Until now, I never thought to ask,  just how the heck can I learn to aim the 5" guns?

I think the "Urchin Method"  works pretty well in these.


I believe  it's close eyes, hold down trigger  and spin around, but you might want to check the finer points with Urchin.

Find the nearest 1 on 1 within 10k of the cv.  Proceed to aim for this point  and just blast away until the little flak clouds are dancing around your countryman and the bad guy that he's so selfishly hogging all to himself.

Remember: you won't hurt your friend and he'll probably be thrilled that you just cleared his 12.  Praise and adulations will soon follow.

Go see if the carrier is still hanging around the main airfield in the Training Arena, hop in a gun and then press Ctrl-Tab then Tab to highlight any near-by aircraft. Should give you a little green cross for where you need to aim.

Then come back to the Main Arena and you'll be swatting them down like flies.

A nice 'first base' is offline using the drones and the LCG.
Second base might be the TA for same thing with a agreeable target to practice at higher or lower altitudes and attack profiles.
