Damn, I'm a little surprised. I allways thought he had a good head on his shoulders. He'll be allright, he's a straight shooter and a funny mother****er.

Sounds like Carlin recognised the problem before it got completely out of hand and did something about it. WTG George!
The audience getting pissed because he was telling they were fools? That's like an audience getting mad because Brittney Spears is lipsyncing. What the **** did they expect?
-
Is he still funny? I dunno, last few shows I saw weren't the greatest.
Hope he beats the habbit. He certainly is getting it easier with the press than Limbaugh did when he went in to clean up
-
I think the difference is Carlin isn't a popmus self-rightious arse.
-
Maybe it will help him. He has been less and less funny each time I have seen him in recent years. Bitter old prune of a man.

You might be a tad bitter too if you ever go through some of the problems and family losses he has endured.
As far as the "moronic" episode while refering to Vegas customers...... the humor, I think, is the fact he is correct.

1. checked himself in voluntarily and not to help lessen legal troubles.
2. no mention of trying to buy drugs illegally from his housekeeper.
3. never made a huge call for extreme punishment for users.
4. is nowhere near the tool that Limbaugh is.
just a few reasons why it's OK that he gets an easier time of it.

No the difference is he's a left wing self rightous ass...which means when he spouts bulls**t it just smells bad and gets very little press.

I think it is pretty obvious that he has been a champion for drug use.
I find that both him and rush owe us all an apolodgy for their pontificating on a subject that they had no real grasp of and I think that both of em did equal harm.
Which is worse? making out drugs to be evil and only for the "weak"and then ending up falling prey to them yourself or.... glorifying their use and then finding out that they are destroying you after you have maybe led gullible kids to drug use?

I went to see his act in 1994. I wouldn't waste the money again!

"Perspective" is a wonderful thing, isnt it, gents? ;)

WTG Carlin! Glad to see someone who has used drugs realizing that they're starting to use them far too often... BEFORE it becomes a major problem.
Now if only a few of my friends will take a clue and drop the needle... Friggin morons. Good kids, excellent people. STUPID people, but good people.
What the hell can I do? They won't voluntarily check into rehab places and as for asking the police for help, well, I learned long ago the cops aren't my friends, and that, sadly, the system rarely really helps anyone.
Well, at least Carlin provides one more role model.
