Title: what is that big blue ball coming up at m..(boom)

id like to see basic stats such as airspeed,
fuel and ammo as well as alt dispayed on the screen like
the framerates,  or at least be optional with the flip of a switch.

i know this is a pipe dream.

however.

i would definately like to be able to see who is within range on the radio without having to open the radio window.

cant count the number of times that ive opened it to see who was there only to find myself unable to use keyboard commands and then having to mouse over and click in the text box and hit enter while the ground is moving towards me much in the way that the clouds are not. (assuming there were clouds, that is)  : )

perhaps its the relative newbie in me.  but on many occasions it has been a near deal breaker.  especially after cocktails.

No no no, way too arcadish.  Try Fighter Ace for that.  

First we get external views for fighters and ground vehicles.  Then maybe your cockpit info.  And full screen invisible cockpit views.  

Oops, again  ... those goodies are already here ... in Fighter Ace.

ok.  let me explain a little clearer.

when i open the radio to see who is on i often find that when i have to strike a key command, or if i miss the enter key to close it and accidentally hit something else, then i have got to mouse over to the message window, delete anything that i may have accidentally typed, such as "x" or "k" or whatever.  meanwhile, ,i am losing SA and/or am unable to go to level flight or etc.

and yes, i know.  map it on my stick.  it is.  but i use both and not all keyboard commands fit on my stick.

when there is 20 people in range it could strike a problem with screen space.

i know what you mean about having to get rid of the radio bar sometimes, would ne nice to have a key mapped to get rid of it even with out the cursor in the bar.

exacltly.  you could hit the ~ key and the list would pop up!  hit ~ again and poof its gone.

just the names...not the type.
