How do you cimb in a bomber. I can barely get over 3000 feet.

If your using 100% fuel that might do it, usually 50% is enough for most bomber flights. 100% fuel will not prevent it from climbing, it will just climb slower and they climb slow enough as it is. Build up some speed after you get around 250 to 300 feet of altitude by leveling off for awhile, you want that much altitude so the drones can close and form up if your using them. You can use the default climb speed but my personal preference is a 150mph climbing speed using the Alt x autoclimb.
:) now the funny answer. Open the hatch and 'climb' in.

Well the best tip I can give is don't take a full load of fuel. Especially in Lancasters. You'll find that in most formation bombers 1/4 to 1/2 tank of fuel is plenty to get you there and back with some to spare.
Another note: Lancasters are severley under powered for their payload. I personally use B17's alot lately they climb alot better and do not feel so under powered. I don't use the b24 because I keep loosing that stupid drone. Or have to play with the throttle to keep it.

you should be able to climb in any bomber........remember that bombers automatically launch with 1 or 2 notches of flaps out....if you take off and try to climb but don't let speed build up and raise flaps you will take for ever to gain alt........as Fuzeman said let drones catch up then level out build up speed and raise flaps then gradually climb out or hit Alt X and climb on auto........
If I recall the Lancaster is prob the worst at grabbing alt.......

thanks for the help everyone. it is very much appreciated

What I do to let the drones form up is raise flaps on takeoff roll and right after wheels up I lower a notch of flaps. If one is still falling behind, I do a gentle turn into that drone. Once all formed up I then raise flaps and gain some speed. It works pretty good in B24s which is my bomber of choice these days.
