Title: BBS images
Post by: Rolex on December 31, 2004, 08:48:39 PM
Just wondering why my images only show as hyperlinks?

Others are able to post images from the same originating domain.
I do not have the hyperlink only option selected in profile.

Thanks.

You have to use the IMG tag.

When you are typing a reply, you will see a button that says IMG.

You only have to put one, once you put in the website it automatically puts one at the end.

Your image you want to post has to be on the internet.

There is the picture hangar you can use. Or, your ISP probably has given you some webspace.

:D

Of course I use the tags, Estes... I setup the originating site among many others.

I was referring to posts elsewhere on the board. Here is an example:

Tags are there but notice the link only?

Gee, you setup image sites and can't figure that one out?

I can figure it out just fine...

[(IMG]http://www.flightsims.info/pfs.php?m=view&v=1-war.jpg[/IMG)]

{remove the ( ) in the tags} and I get a hyperlink, while everyone else gets the image...

Anyway, I posted this for Skuzzy since there might be an IP blocking list for users, that I am somehow on.

I'm trying hard to keep my sunny disposition since you don't comprehend my first, or second post. Happy New Year.

Copy and paste to test:

That should work as far as I can see...

Nope, didn't work for me either.... strange.....

I can only think changes have been made to the BBS itself to disable displaying images in certain forums, including this one.  Though it does say at the bottom of this page that IMG code is ON.

Well that blows that theory, though just realised Estes had also posted an image successfully too.

OK, could it be the particular site you are using doesn't allow remote linking or whatever the technical term is?  Either way, it looks like the problem is not at your end or HTCs.....

Ah, I see the problem now (after realising Estes's picture was the one you were trying to show).

Here are the two links - see the difference?

Yours:  [(IMG]http://www.flightsims.info/pfs.php?m=view&v=1-war.jpg[/IMG)]

Estes:[(IMG]http://www.flightsims.info/datas/users/1-war.jpg[/IMG)]

You need to right-click on the picture, go to properties and copy&paste the link from the address given there to make it work - like this:

(http://www.flightsims.info/datas/users/1-war.jpg)   :D
