who said this?
"Know Your Lawmakers, Guns, April 1960, p. 4 (1960): "By calling attention to 'a well regulated militia,' the 'security' of the nation, and the right of each citizen 'to keep and bear arms,' our founding fathers recognized the essentially civilian nature of our economy. Although it is extremely unlikely that the fears of governmental tyranny which gave rise to the Second Amendment will ever be a major danger to our nation, the Amendment still remains an important declaration of our basic civilian-military relationships, in which every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of his country. For that reason I believe the Second Amendment will always be important."

People in free countries should always have weapons. What you want is for the good people to have weapons before the bad people get them cause if the good people dont have them and the bad people get them then sh*t hits the fan.

Oh yeah, I live in california so I have no real threat or need to own a gun. But I do think that some people should have them so it depends.

Did JFK give that speech before he brought tyranny to the south, in the form of the national guard, civil rights and desegregation?
Can't recall any armed rebellions there after, seemed more like passive submission on their part.

I believe that "and the right of EACH CITIZEN KEEP AND BEAR ARMS" and.... "in which EVERY CITIZEN must be READY to participate in the defense of his country" are more to the point.
but then... maybe you wife only reads what she wants to read

Now that's funny. It's fine for YOU to take words out of context and put a spin on it, but when someone else does it they "only read what they want to read". Hello Pot, meet Kettle.

An assasinated President's pro guns stance inspires me to the same degree as a dead rockstar's stance on drug leagalisation.

well... I have never told anyone that they should listen to me on relationship matters but... you guys really ought to grow a pair. do your wives let you go into the voting booth by yourself? The way I handle relationships may not work well for a lot of you... basicly.. I feel that the woman should live at least an hour away from me and be kinky and clean and let me do what I want.
torque.. I believe that most of the south was about done with segregation at the time kennedy sent in the guard.
I don't think anyone can read Kennedys quote and not realize that kennedy felt that the 2nd was an individual right. He also felt that it was here to stay and that it was important to our country. Any phrase in the quote that talks about rights is an INDIVIDUAL right... the militia is secondary to the sentance. it is simply one more reason for the INDIVIDUAL to have these rights but...
why am I wasting time talking to MT.... Put your wife on so that I can converse with the decision maker in the family.
