while spazzing out trying to type .ef while being vulched on landing I discovered something amusing. The "triple-enter" can be interspersed with other text. i.e. I typed (as it appears in the buffer)
/.ef (enter)
.fe (enter)
e.f (enter)
very quickly which resulted in my bailing on the runway with 7 kills :(
Ahahahahah. At least I wasn't vulched...

Welcome to my world. :) lmao!

you can always remap bail out to somehting like the * on the keypad (nothing nativly mapped there)
then the accidental bail out will never happen
-
I remapped my bail out to hit Shift then the "A" key 3 times. I used to accidently bail out alot when I first started playing. Never again now. Besides bailing out isn't something you normally have to do in in a split second. My setup works great for me. I would suggest remapping it to something that fits for you.

happened to me before...
had 10 kills in a spit 14, squaddie and myself wanted to land kills together, so we both stop on runway, ill count it in, after 3....

been ctrl + enter ever since ;)

I unmapped bail out alltogether. I prefer going down with the ship ;)
-
also, score potatos can now bail out at 50 ft and '.ef' to saftey when they would never have time to open their chute?
what gives? when did this change?
-
why type .ef, just click tower
-
i can type /.ef a lot quicker than pulling up the clipboard, using the mouse to position the pointer over the tower button and clicking it.
Most ppl who know how to type well use .ef method.

Mechanic,
Just tried your trick in the training arena, and got "You must be stopped to exit flight".... so, maybe something changed, or was that a joke :)

You guys need to save the 15 bucks a month and re-invest in a typing class =)

no, im serious. it only works in the MA though.
trust me, i tried to exit when i bailed out too high for a giggle and imagine my suprise when it worked.
later i was shot down below chute alt and thought id try it again without even opening my chute. it worked.

It's an arena setting that can be turned on and off..... :)
