0-100 back down to 0 in 10 seconds
0-60 in 2.7 seconds.
You buy the rolling chassis from http://www.ultimasports.co.uk
And then stuff in any V-8 you want LOL you talk about an 9.0 on the butt pucker scale.

that thing is cool and all but if it doesnt have at least 2 cup holders there's no way I'd be seen driving it.
-
I'm betting the cockpit is as loud as a fighter plane.
-
I wonder how well a carseat would fit in it?
-
Yeah but here's the thing.
The dealer I used to work for just sold the Ford GT for 245K
Sticker was 145K
You can build these things for 100K and kick the snot our of the GT's.

hell if you buy the body kit seperatly and know how to fabricate you can build it from the frame up for about $15K.....probably a few grand more for a better engine.
-
Once had a friend that had a Lamborghini that he built from a kit. Corvette engine, porshe drivetrain.. he probably had 80K into it without factoring the value of his labor. Anyway.. it had real Lambo seats. Frigging uncomfortable as hell. I couldn't imagine being cooped up in that car for any amount of time.
-
They come with 5 point seat belts.
Although I dint see the need being that the suction from the pucker factor should restrain you just fine.
-
Friend told me that he had to work on the aero for the car... at 160 mph, it started to leave the ground.

I remember reading that somewhere to.
At those speeds thay have to pay as much attention to the bottom of the car as to the body.
-
That has about as much in common with a real street car (you know, the kind someone actually uses as a daily driver) as my Buick has with an F1 racecar.

Ultima GTR's are one of the best bang for the buck sportscars on the planet. There's a few catches though... you can get the low end version, and build one for under 15k, but you're using parts from a Ford Grenada. The high end version starts jumping in price pretty heavily.
Oh, and the windows don't roll down. At all.
Other than that, they're awesome cars... but not the fastest on the planet.
Here's the fastest on the planet:
Bugatti Veyron, 1001hp quad turbo W-16

Need one of these (http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,12529-1267303,00.html)

1) It's not actually in production.
2) Bugatti havn't yet gotton the brakes working well yet, so yeah it'll reach something stupid like 250mph but it won't stop without setting fire to the front wheels.

Yes but what will it do 0-100 back to 0 in ?
-
wombatt... how does an empty chassis do 0-100 and back to zero in 10 seconds... or even 0-60 in 2.7?
I heard they use kittens for the upholstery too.

0-100 in ten seconds is nice .. but i need a car that will do 85 to 65 under one second to avoid speeding tickets... Now that would be something useful :)

Well Laz follow the link to there web site and then read where they did the test.
it will tell you what engine combo they used.
It is set up for chevy 350 with porsche trans axles.
You can have one from mild to wild.
You buy a rolling chassis then buy or build the engine of you're choice.
They have put in 1000hp v-8s in these things but the one that set the record i believe was 660hp.
http://www.ultimasports.co.uk/record.html (http://www.ultimasports.co.uk/record.html)
-
lots of specialty cars have broken that record. replica cobras do it... guys in my modified Healey club do it.
these guys should just order crate chevy or ford engines. It is easy to get 800 HP from run of the mill crate motors and 1200 from turbo motors.

You really hate Fords don't you? Oh wait, Chevy doesn't have a car that was designed specifically for racing. :lol
lazs, Austin Healey's with a "bigger motor" would be fun to see.

0-60 is kind of wimpy anyways. Hell the Cobb Tuning Conebasher WRX can do 0-60 right around 2 sec flat.
-
Love the exhaust setup on that thing, straight from the extractors into the muffler.

Here's what Top Gear had to say about the Ultima GTO (17mb mpeg) (http://www.trdparts.com/AH/Top Gear - Ultima GTO.mpeg)
-
Laz,
Is this a standard windshield or is this a special model? I've heard people call it "LeMans". Does it fold up and down?

I see your stupid yellow car and raise you this. You WANT 0-60, you got it. Yeah, it's a Ford, from 1994. Imagine the vette owners had this been mass produced.

monk... that is the standard windsheild on all 100 4's from 54 to 56... mine is a 55 and yes.... it folds up and down but I never fold it up... A chevy V8 and folded down windsheild give new meaning to "wind in your face".

Learn to read PLS.
The record was set for 0-100 back to 0.

I figured you would forget your "0-60 in 2.7 seconds", when you saw the 0-60 in 1.9 seconds of that 10L Mustang. You are an infant.

FWIW Lazs is about the best motor tuner around- when I visited he started his Healey, for the first time in days, within the first two teeth of the flywheel- from outside the car. Unless you can hear that motor scream all the talk about Laz's Healy doesn't do it justice.
-
if you gonna spend that kind of money why spend it on a dumb car?
buy a kit aircraft and fly faster than 100mph with an unlimited highway :P

I know how well-versed lazs IS when it comes to cars. No doubt he knows more than I do, but I have been around cars since I was 5 years old.
What is funny is that some of these other people posting, have no clue (not directed at you Airhead). ESPECIALLY the thread starter, who is nothing more than an ignorant troller.

nice lute... Looks like your dad is really enjoying his car.
guys... thanks for the compliments but there are a lot of guys here that are a lot more up on cars than I am... I am old school stuff... mostly obsolete by todays standards but all making the kind of noise and feel that I grew up with.
It is what works for me and..... even manages to put a smile on some hard core techno guys mugs every once in a while.... I may not be going as fast as them but it feels and sounds like I am going faster

PERFORMANCE
0-60 mph: 1.9 seconds
0-100mph 5.5 seconds
1/4 mile: 10.55 seconds @135.05 mph
Seeming that the 10.0L Boss had a complete F-1 rear end including tires and . Looking at the 0-100 time, I'd say it could beat 10secs.
Read the January 2000 issue of Car and Driver. They had a complete write up of this car.

Those track tests done on the boss were all over TV's car shows. Anyone who knows cars knows about the Camero Vs Mustang shoot out they had a year or so back. Chevy had their super ss and ford had the big boss.

Its amazing you, or anyone else should call that fiberglass coated roll cage a "street car". I've driven shebly kit cars that were proabably a hell of alot more comforable to drive in than that thing.
