LOL, too good not to post :)

If you outlaw guns, how will we keep ourselves safe from sword yielding geriatrics ?

Disabled Drivers Pull Sword, Gun in Parking Space Fight

S P R I N G  H I L L, Fla. — Lee Damron wasn't about to give up his handicapped parking space. And neither was Richard Cavalier.

Police said Cavalier and his wife pulled into the spot outside the Oak Hill Hospital, right before Damron, who intended to park in the same space.

The two men got into a profanity-laced argument, and then as bystanders gathered around them, Damron pulled out a sword concealed in his black, cobra-head-tipped cane, police said.

"He extracted a long thin sword and was advancing toward the guy who pulled into the spot," said Hernando County Sheriff's Lt. Joe Paez.

Cavalier, who was in an electric cart, responded by drawing a Makarov 9 mm pistol.

"[Damron] realized he was outgunned and backed off," Paez said.

The swordsman then proceeded into the hospital to visit his brother, police said. When police arrived, Damron allegedly hid the cane in his brother's hospital bed, and told the officers he had produced a pocketknife, not a sword.

Police said they found the weapon and charged Damron with aggravated assault.

Cavalier had a concealed weapons permit for his gun, and was not charged in the incident. Both men had permits to park in handicapped spaces.

"We're a little shaken up," Cavalier told the St. Petersburg Times, speaking for himself and his wife. "We were shocked."

I have that same cane. I sported it for new years in fact at my (now) annual Pimp's & Ho's New Years Party.

interesting points here... the aggressor was carrying an edged weapon... the law abiding citizen possibly stopped a homicide by using a "cheap semi auto military arm" and.... merely pointing the gun at the criminal stopped the fight.

I have bought 3 makarovs.... they can be purchased for as little as $125 and they are extremely well made and dependable and safe and.... accurate.  a little heavy and clumsy for the caliber but cheap to shoot (lots of practice) and.... as can be seen..... a good deal for those on a fixed income.

let's review the story with one difference.... say that puppet witchy of george soros had her way and you couldn't own any guns except single shot rifles locked up in poilice stations....

Cavalier gets electro-fried as his blood (spilled by the other dinosaur's sword) gets into the power system of his electric cart.

do you two mean 'yield' or 'wield'?

isnt 'to yield' the same as giving up?

I would think the geriatrics who don't yield their swords are a much bigger problem.

Doh!

Then  old Dick Cavalier would have had a sword as well..think of all the neat swordsmanship that would be going on in FL, would be a blast to watch...see gun control would be a good thing.

shamus... swords are not legal to carry so....  the makarov owner who, by having a permitted firearm, proved himseelf to be a law abiding citizen.... would have become a victim to the criminal.    even a cell phone and dodging sword thrusts for the requisite 20 min  police response time wouldn't have saved him...

$125 dollar cold war surplus Mak did tho.    Bet that somewhat homely Mak looks pretty nice to that guy and his family now.    In england he woulda just got stabbed.
