What are they doing... I thought that only historical skins would get approved.

Definately not historical.  If you are talking about the actual CAF B17, it never made it to England or wore 381st BG colors in service.

Looks good though.  Glad you got it through

Well, they approved Truekill's AVG P-40E, and that is absolutely not historical. Heck, I even posted the correct profile.....

That's one that should be pulled, unless we have an airshow arena I'm not aware of.

My regards,

Could be the fact that the skins are going on old planes. Which will be replaced. - I haven't seen what would happen yet where every plane in a large furball has a seperate skin. How much load does it out on ones system? Since the old skins have larger textures than the new ones - could be a sort of test to see what happens.

Then again I could be way off base and it's really just  a matter or quality control. :)

Who knows, When the new models are finished, there might be a stricter enforcement of "what's acceptable" and possibly harder to get skins accepted due to quality demands.

wtg, Spade. :)

wish we'd see more 17's in the air, though.  soooooooooo many b-24's...

The fact is the B-24 is a much better airplane in all respects. It flies faster, higher, and carries more than a 17. Its what a B-17 wants to be. There were nearly 19000 B-24's built but less than 12000 B-17's.

it is a nice job, and looks verry nice..
but allowing a non historical skin is either silly or they just can't be bothered

Great job, Spade.   Whether or not the 'plane' is historical, the scheme certainly is; maybe that's what counts.

For example on the VF-27 Hellcat, I had to choose number of '11' due to skin mirroring issues, without having proof there really was an '11' in the squad or the details of its appearance.
