Appearently it's supposed to shoot miniature lightning bolts into your face.
Sounds good to me, so I'm thinking about taking the plunge and picking one up. As it's a sizeable investment, I thought I'd enquire as to anyone here's experience with this piece of equipment.

I got the Mach3 Power, but the battery was dead when I bought it. Used it for a week before replacing the battery. Replaced the battery since, and overall it's a great razor. It gives a good clean shave, but I didn't notice any difference in the shave with it powered up. Also, the blades themselves don't seem to last very long before needing replacement, and if you don't replace the blade frequently, it feels like it's tearing the hair out of your face as opposed to actually cutting it.

Been using it ever since it came out.
Seems to do the job

It's for men that like vibrators :lol
Hey nash, don't go pointing that razor at airplanes on approach..might get labeled a terrorist.

The Mach3 Power vibrates like crazy to "gently lift up facial hair for a cleaner cut". I haven't noticed any difference though.

I use the Mach3 Turbo. I refuse to buy into the "battery" gimmick.

I tried one of those. Weird feeling when you switch it on, I always worry that it will start to dig into my juglar and can't get it to stop.
Seems like it slides over the skin better.

doesn't it cost like less than $10? I am still on the twin balde thingie that was unbeatable last year or so... when I run out of blades I will buy the next gee wizz razor and extra blades till they run out and then...

Yea but we need to hear from someone with facial hair.

I have used the mach3 turbo since it came out. I didn't know how good it was until I tried to use those disposable ones when I was out of blades. Holy crapola! Those disposables feel like they are ripping the hair out.
-
I have used it for several months gives me the best shave of all i have tried (I used the gillette sensor previously). Haven't had to change the battery yet. Each blade lasts about 2 shaves, same as my old sensor.

I think there's one out from Schick now with four blades. But I won't be satisfied until we get one that has at least 25 blades.

:rofl ... isn't it amazing how many times the razor can be re-invented.
I am more amazed at how gullible the people are you buy into the crap that they espouse. Now they got you buying a straight-edge razor with a battery that causes vibrations that "raise" the hairs up ... I swear that PT Barum is still alive and well living in Hoboken and he has mucho stock in the razor and battery industry.
I use a Wet/Dry razor in the shower and then use the cheap-*** bics razor for the fine clean up.

i use a sheath knife and axle grease.

Look at the Schick Quatro lazs. It's got twice the blades you currently have. :)
-
I think what they are shooting for is the effect of having a 70 year old barber with a straight razor.
-
Grow a beard and don't worry about it:lol
-
Problem I find is that the more blades the cram in there the harder it is to rinse it out.
-
Yeah, I have the Shick Quatro.
Doesn't work all that well. Even with brand new blades it still feels like its pulling.
And when you try to shave your moustache, it feels like your ripping your lip off.
Blades are a little stiff for my lip.
And like wombatt said, hard to rinse them out.

I have Braun with wünderbaums & all, washable Philips with disco-lights + other gimmics but for some reason I still use Gillette Mach 3.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll give the girl a whirl... and let ya know how it works out.
I woulda been skeptical about this too. See... when they first came out with two blades (revolutionary!) all the advertisements showed some cheesy computer animation of the blade going over some stubble, with the narration being something along the lines of: "The first blade gets right up to the root, practically under the skin, and pulls the whiskers up, while the second blade comes along and chops 'em off".
So when they came out with three blades, I'm thinkin' that if one's doing the pulling and one's doing the chopping, then what the hell is a third blade gonna do besides give ya a clean close shave by way of removing several layers of skin?
But the Mach 3 turned out to be a glorious invention, right up there with the Gutenburg press and Dr. Pepper. I became a believer. So... when it comes to this kind of thing, I gotta give them the benefit of the doubt.
I bet they hammer ya with the cost of replacement parts though. That's how they always get ya.

I can't wait for someone to invent something so you only have to shave once a month or once a year. I guess it will never happen. Selling shaving products is a multimillion dollar industry. Anyway I prefer an electric razor as blades always cut me to ribbons.
-
I use the Personna Speed 3 disposable. Costs about 1/3 the Schick or Gillette models and performs just as well.
-
im personally tired of pating 17 buck for ten refill blades for mine.
actively shopping for an electric razor these days.
-
I have a beard but you still gotta shave your neck. I bought a bunch of refills on sale when I got my old twin blade (because they didn't make the single blade anymore) and when they run out I will buy whatever gee wizz one is on sale and a bunch of refills for it when they are on sale.
need to save money for hot rods and guns and girlfriends and kids....
Interesting show on razors on the history channel.... apparently the disposable blade was invented so that they could keep you coming back for more of their product. seems that the philosophy hasn't changed much except that competition has simply forced them to make more and more oullandish claims.
