My apologies for creating a new thread.
Saw has graciously volunteered to host this vid for me, so a big thanks to mr Saw.
The vid is roughly ~50 megabytes in size. 56k, runawaaaay.
Hope ya like the music selection:

Enjoy!

wholly molly!

Wow.
Can you still use keypad (or mapped joystick) buttons to snap view? I ask because the only thing I dont like is the way it gives you the "bad" rear view and a mapped view that avoids the seat would be better.
-
heh, I'm guessing that sortie didn't end with a landing.

I hear that song and all I can think of is BF:Vietnam.
-
why not club some more newbies with your uber track thingy
LOL
i dont like how it puts you right aginst the seat looking over shoulder..... is that you not "leaning" or the only view?
-
you can lean around the seat.
-
best way to check 6 with it is to use your thumb hat to get you to that quadrent and then lean. Looking forward you can easily look arround braces or over your nose a little. HT did a great job. But we need all new cockpits cause with track IR things like working nobs and stuff are way cooler.
-
Heh, nope, no landing :) 20 seconds after that last shot I ended up skimming over the ground 250mph into a hill.
73: That six view wasn't working for me either, and it turns out I had tweaked the Z axis on accident instead of the Y, resulting in a very sensitive 'head forward' scaling. Regardless of where you turn your head, the Z axis is perpendicular to a line through your ears. It follows your current Yaw. Anway, my point is, it was moving too far in the aft direction of the cockpit while looking back. All axes are completely adjustable to your liking.
Grits: Yeah, numpad and hat views still function when TIR is enabled. To add to what Pongo is describing... Say you press and hold the 4 numpad key too look left. While the traditional view keys are pressed, pitch and yaw are disabled and the XYZ axes are still functioning. So while looking left using numpad, you can move your head up/down/back/forth/left/right if you like. The same is true for the six view. Press 2 numpad, lean left/right/up/down/etc...
otherwise just lean manually while your head is turned :)

In that case, I'm going to talk to him about hosting Spade's video.
I'm downloading the vid now. Looking forward to seeing it. :)

LOL I have TrackIR2 brand new still in the box...had it over a year and I haven't installed it yet.
Problem I see is head position for gunsight...never dead on. Is there a correction for that?
-
never was a problem, doesnt need to be dead on, just play with it for a week to see what i mean.
-
As she said in "Contact": "I had no idea..."
 :aok
-
Just got mine; very pleased! :)
-
Really Soda? I posted it there too in the Aces High section. Is that what you're referring to?
Hajo, everything is adjustable. The reason the gunsight wasn't centered the whole time was because of me moving my head all over hell... just my style, or just me attempting to get used to the TIR :) I never reallized how much I moved my head when flying without TIR.

So...when you move your head do you have to keep your eyes on the screen? I guess you would - duh! But don't you get eye strain from lookin sidways all the time? Or are the movements very slight?
-
HAHAHA, that spit ran away from you.

Wasn't in the forums, was on a page of demos I found and was listed as "new" and named hush.avi Assumed it was your file based on size/name.

i know someone famous on the intardnet LOL
wtfg oct, you should let them know the link is broken
-
Link is working again on their site
too cool oct!
-
The motions are very slight most of the time.
With the vector I have no trouble shooting with Track IR. its far better then previos versions that way.
Oct you had any trouble with the thing getting locked looking down?
very nice film by the way. Quite a rush and imersion it gives you isnt it..lol
-
Yeah it gets locked in the down position sometimes. I've duplicated it with the tracking and head windows open... happens when one or two of the dots are below the TIR's field of view. I just look down [further] and it seems to clear it. Doesn't happen in combat, only if i drop a pretzel or something.
Rush, hehe sure. I guess more like panic :) I have a bad habbit of disabling it moments before engaging (for old gunnery). Felt like I was putting on a blindfold at first. You gotta work through the transition though.. I've improved a ton since I started, but I have a ways to go.
