Title: Setup Problem..
Post by: Wapture on January 08, 2005, 12:21:09 PM
Hello,

I use to play Aces High a few months back and uninstalled it due to the lack of time I had playing it.

Today I wanted to give it another go now I have spare time, downloaded the software, installed it and when I started it up it showed a plain white screen, and video setup popped up.

When I did the settings and pressed continue it crashed and sent me to the desktop.

NOW, I know people wll say its the video card I have, but it isn't because I have played Aces High before on this very same computer.

I have installed direct X as stated on the website, tried to delete the video file (wasn't there at all in any HTC/Aces High II folder) and basically stuck for answers.

I really do want to get back online and fighting again shortly.

This is now Aces High 2 with higher minimum requirements than AH1 had a few months back. Post your specs and it very well could be the video card or at least a related driver issue.
System specs ???

You will need to update the video card for that Intel chip.  As the Intel chip is a very low end video display device, you should set the game video settings to something very conservative.  (800x600, 128 Maximum texture size).

Is it even going to work?  It says he only has 4MB of video RAM and 128MB of system RAM.

Oops.  You are right Star.  I did not catch that.  It probably will not work.

i see 126 mbs of system ram while running xp  , with 4 mbs of that system ram allocated to the 82810 onboard grafics .

it looks like a early pent 3 (note these things ran really hot {57c or higher})

you might get this thing to work if you added alot more Ram , along with a better video card ... but you would need to check out the mainboard specs first .

The mrs Roo had a pent 2 with a 82810 onboard and 512 in ram with 64mbs allocated and it counldnt play ah1 much past ver 1.06 or so .
