Post by: doobs on January 08, 2005, 11:56:28 PM
No  not the Van Halen song, but the fact that we large knit squads, have joined forces unintentionaly and roll at will.
68th, FB's,DOW,Pigstompers,and Nighthawks.
You guys are fun to fly with, and are unstopable.

The new bigger and inproved Horde will be stopping by your base soon.  Check for time and locations.:aok

Why be anything else but a Knit, cause if your not a knit
your just in the way.

Doesn't it get lonely at those undefended bases with 50 friendlies theres?
But who am I to to dictate how you want to play the game.
Go get em guys, and watch out for the towers at the cities so you don't hit one, while kill shooting each other in an atempt to kill those buildings....LOL

The above statement is a friendly Razzing, so don't get all defensive. Do what ever floats your boat. :)

Looking at the individual scores (and squad scores too) of the above, I can understand why they travel as a horde. Yup, we are surely impressed!

Yeah, go get 'em ladies! Don't break a nail.

Tell ya what, I'll meet your entire squad in the DA or TA, one at time and we'll calculate that score.... Care to make a wager on that outcome?

I don't care about score, scoring means nothing.

Have a party, but if I can drag a few away from the horde, they will die. That's my anti-horde game, entice a few to chase me, then reverse on them when they're beyond icon range of the mob.

Why don't you guys bring those squads into the TA and work on ACM skills, then you won't need the safety of the herd to hide in. That is especially important for your new players. God knows, the role model they see know won't teach them anything beyond pack mentality.

My regards,

Widewing

I'm not demanding a challenge, I'm offering an opportunity to see what you guys have, or don't have as individuals.

So, yeah, bring the whole squad or any of those who wish to come. My squad will be in the TA to 10 PM eastern (yeah, we actually train). We will be working on defending against the BnZ attack. Specifically, how to counter it and win the fight.

If you like, I will ask Hammer if he's interested in this being a joint-squad training event. We could all fly the same country and use same vox frequency.

After that, I'll meet your whole gang at any field on the map. It'll be fun.

Consider it training. Rules are simple. Everyone flies the same fighter (I don't care which, I fly them all). 5k ceiling prior to merge, no shooting on merge. You get painted (single pings excluded), you auger. You don't auger, I will ignore you (you can't damage another fighter in the TA). No running, excessive extending will be viewed as running. Winner can re-plane if he wishes for fresh ammo and gas.

When not involved in actual combat please observe the following TA rules. No strafing aircraft on runways. No bombing or strafing base A1. Don't engage anyone without their permission. Do not fly a Rook or Knit aircraft over A1. Anyone breaking the last 4 rules will be warned once and ejected on the second offense. If any noobs attack your members, tell me and I'll deal with it.

There should be other Trainers in the TA should anyone want to work on any particular thing.

When we are done with our game, I'll be happy to play fox to your hounds, with the goal being to improve ACM skills. At that point everyone can fly whatever they want (I'll probably fly an F4U-1) and I'll fly against all at once. I suggest everyone run film.

See you there.

My regards,

Widewing

In all seriousness the TA is an excellent place to work on gunnery.  You get 1,000 times the shot opportunities to work on lead etc.  My gunnery is especially poor and I find it is helping me a great deal.

I now return you to your word battles... :)

Yep, it was good to have you aboard. Our squad goes to the TA at least a couple of times a month. We work on various aspects of the game. The idea is to get everyone proficient at everything. Naturally, some guys will progress faster than others, but all improve with training.

By the way, you missed our 2 on 1 scrum.

You did get to see how easily the F4U-1 handles the 190A-5. Especially when things slow below 250 mph. That Corsair is way under-rated by the MA population and is a certified perk collector.

I strongly recommend that competing squadron (IE: From differing countries) meet in the TA for scrums. Just because they fight each other in the MA doesn't mean that they can't train together in the TA. The only thing missing in the TA is exploding planes, and for training purposes, that's a plus.

Anyway, I was happy to have you with us. Sometimes some good-natured nose tweeking results in positive things.

My regards,

Widewing

The F4U-1 with full flaps and around 150 mph will out turn just about everything but the Zeke's, Hurri's, Ki84, Spit V and P-38. Its slow speed turning is underestimated.

Umm, I don't ussualy get into pi$$ing matches over squad ranks and yadda yadda yadda but, ........since you started this by adding my squad into a booger headed insulting remark (un provoked by us) I must be as kind as to point out that the FB squad is ranked 42 in the top 100 and yours is somewhere in the 60's. And no......I am not insulting your squad...(like you did mine) just pointing out that if the FB squad ranking makes us girls.....you guys must be little girls lol :p

All in fun I guess, just setting the record straight, I Salute you guys for even being in the top 100 as any place there is honorable.

Oh and before you say it......... lol, No I do not want to meet you anywhere to prove anything unless it's a bar and your buying:aok     Toodles!!!!!

Does this remind anybody else of those Karate Ninja movies where the good guy is surrounded by 20 bad guys who go at him one at a time until they're all down?

Every time is see Bruce Li or Chuck Norris in this situation, I holler at the screen for the bad guys to work together and take him down.

Flyboy I do not recall you being involved in this or you just adding your 2 cents? I am talking to  wildwing , does your squad train wingman tactics at all? Flying against another squad is great for wingman tactics. Flyboy I am looking for a squad to train against. The 68th pratices Formation flying in A line of breast ,V formation that you must hold 500 ft apart and in Sections with many more. We also land and Take off in formation. We got tired of getting ganged banged so we made it a must to learn Tactics for everyone in squad they also have assigned wing men.So people like you do not have a chance and complain like we use to ubtil we learned it took ahwhile and its not easy we also use code talk like real pilots it cuts down on chatter and works well. You never see Knights complaing about the RJO on Sundays with 300 plus pilots kicking butt do ya.But any the 68th will always be a force to be reakened with and FyBy you have a good K/D ratio. Remember Fear the Reaper no more, Fear the Lancers. Just checked your squad out looks like your the only good one. You want to come and fly with a real squad look me up.

do you allso give eachother wittle medals and chest pins? and pat eachother on the back everytime someone gets a kill?

oh oh, and do you bombard chan200 with "WTFG 68KO" everytime you land 2 kills in a La7?

do you train on how to get the highest rank possible, and work up your K\D ratio by simply running awey when the odds are not in favor?

do you practice 1 hour everyday aiming in the 5inch guns, cause its a l33t skill you must master?

do you steamroll base after base (only after you check its completely deserted ofcourse)?

:p
i bet i can shoot down each and everyone of you.... twice lol :D

Hey there KO. Tonight is my night for trainer duty in the TA. I don't know if I'll get into the MA tonight. However, you are certainly welcome to drop by the TA. Tomorrow night is probably ok, Saturday evening is even better.

We should fly for the same country so we can talk on the country channel, saving a lot of typing.

Wildwing I would like to set it up for next thrusday and do you know this guy Flyboy just thought we where tyring to communicate with each other and he just will not mind his business. So around 9-9:30 . We will goto the SEA they are not running anything and I can load what ever planes we need and terrian. I think this would be great and it would help or squads out greatly.I am really looking forward to this I will put out the word this week to my pilots. If you are not doing anything tomarrow night come fly with us in  Friday night squadops. I will sign you in my squad and you can fly with us it is real fun . If you like you can register your squad and join the fun . You have to be invited by a registered squad to play no walkons they get ejected and flight starts they close the fields it is a 1 life event . My group is flying 109F4 fighters there should be about 30 of us come fly with us.See if you make it to the end and don't get shot down.Last week 20 out of our 32 made it to the end we slammed about 25 P-40 it was a blast.
