Title: Skuzzy - problem with P51b1.res skin

Machnix's beautiful P-51B - the 4th FG noseart from the default
P-51B skin is showing through.   Odds are this is a missing
P51BART1_a.bmp file, or something is wrong with it.  It should be 256x256 bmp filed with black (x000000) color.

When I noticed this was happening, I deleted the cache and the res file and let it re-download to the game, then checked it externally inthe Training Arena, it is still a problem.

  Just to be sure Skuzzy notices this in case it can be fixed on a Wednesday skins download.

Just for kicks, you guys have the same problem, right?   could anybody be kind enough to confirm for me?   Thanks!

oboe,

The skin was submitted with P51BART1_a.bmp being all black.  Checked the external view in the Training Arena as you suggested and the skin displays correctly – no default nose art.

Try changing your Max Texture Size – from AH2's startup page, select VIDEO SETUP, change Max Texture Size, and click OK.  AH2 will then rework the skins and it might fix the problem.  Go back to the TA and see if the nose art is still visible.  If this fixes the problem, set your Max Texture Size back to what you had and see if the problem remains fixed.

HT should be redoing the 3D model or at least the UVW maps for the P51B some time.  So I don't suspect this problem being very high on their priority list.  Hopefully the cycling of the texture sizes will fix your problem.

Thanks guys.   Good news that it is limited to me only.

This is what I have tried, with no luck:

- changing Max Texture Size to 512 from 1024
- changed Max Texture Size back to 1024
- deleted the original 'saved' p-51b skins folder, re-exported skin
- changed Max Texture Size to 128 from 1024
- rebooted system, changed Max Texture Size back to 1024

Each time I go into the Training Arena and look at the plane externally, the "Shangri La" nose art is there.   Only on Machnix' skin though.

One other thing that happened during this time is the duplicate RAF 112 Sqn skin for the P-51B started showing up as the default skin art.

Anything else I can try?

Last ditch: delete your skins folder and let them all redownload again.

I've heard some people have problems with downloading the pack.
