Fun - No fun in it for me and regarding self destructive, more like destructive to the intended target. Self destructive to the user only if he/she shoots themselves with it.

But at one time he did.... and found it self-destructive, I believe.

Diamonds are like alcohol: valuble, useful, popular and fun - but, without discretion, self-destructive to the user"
Gold is like alcohol: valuble, useful, popular and fun - but, without discretion, self-destructive to the user"
Money is like alcohol: valuble, useful, popular and fun - but, without discretion, self-destructive to the user"
It`s misdirected, uneducated self-rightousness that`s the real killer though.

that does not mean give up your rights to the women that run your country.

It's okay Furbie.
Those Gun guys are just jealous of the unknown, - living in a country where it's not so likely to get shot :D

Guns are selfdestructive, so remember to use ear and eye protection.

Actually I have no fear of being shot in my neighborhod.

People here are too absorbed in their self righteous activities such as washing their hummer Hgay2 then driving it to the local grocery store.

There are bad places in the world, and in my state, you know what a state is right guys? We've got more than 50 of them here in the US.

I'm more worried about getting run over buy some syko girl on PMS at my college campus while walking to my car than getting shot. I have guns, lots of them, and I carry one most of the time. Not while im away at school...

Why do I carry one? Hell, because I can. I'm not expecting to get into a gun fight, no one ever does, its just nice knowing it there to even up the odds if need be.

I've gotten in several fights since I've been carrying a gun. I never had a thought in my mind to use it durring any of them. Not before, not durring, not after.

Figured one of you Aholes would make a dig at the US tho. Typical of those who are ignorant to concept of freedom and rights.

Edit: But then again, I guess "freedom" has more than one deffinition.

Well, the kind of freedom to expect any nut to have a gun in his pocket has a quirk. One therefor needs one too!

angus... your igtnorance is showing..  with complete freedom to carry it is true that only about 10% of a modern societry will carry concealed regularly even in very dangerous places like south africa or israel.

It is also a fact that the people who choose to carry in a legal manner are the most law abiding citizens on the planet as a group.

In the U.S. no one of the millions of concealled carry citizens has committed an unlawful shooting.     It is also true that you are safer in a concealed carry state than in one that is not so.... your arguement has no basis in fact.... it is the oppossite of fact.

I am glad that you have never needed a firearm and hope that you never do since... well... your women took em away but..  you are living in a fantasy world.... you believe that your government can protect you from the bad guys and that they themselves can never become the bad guys even tho... it is a fact that they can't protect you and that, further... The vast majority of homicides in the world have been committed by governments.

you seem childlike and petulant to me.

My Ignorance?
Look at this:

"In the U.S. no one of the millions of concealled carry citizens has committed an unlawful shooting."

this must be the funniest statement I have ever seen. Who are you? God?

So never ever a single shooting crime by a legal gun owner?
Come on......

Then FYI, I have 3 guns...legally. No good for concealing though, sort of big for the job......

BTW, the first armed bank robbery in my country was made by a U.S. citizen.
:D

Maybe the women should just take over your country after all.....

Angus
Laz is not talking about all legal gun owners, just the ones that went to the trouble of getting a Concealed Carry Permit.

I am fairly sure he is right.

I'm so traumatized by this discussion that I'm going to the safe, picking out a shotgun and a coyote rifle, loading up the Labs and going pheasant hunting for the next 4 days.

Don't have to go to my gun club to get the guns, don't have to ask the local constabulary if I can borrow my guns back from them, don't have to ask anyone anything.... well, I asked the Labs if they want to go but then they ALWAYS say yes.

Oh... the angst of living in a place that has (shudder) guns!

You boys argue amongst yourselves. I think I'll go enjoy some shooting sports simply because I feel like it and have a hankerin' for some Pheasant Marsala. And maybe a few more yodel dogs for the fur rug in front of the fireplace.

A gun dosīnt shoot by itself, someone has kinda pull the trigger.
I am sure the same person that will use a gun for to inflict or threaten to harm other persons, would use a rock, a bat, a knife, fists, a car or a dog to do the same thing.

Yes, guns should be in every mans home, car, pocket, then the punks would maybe think twice. The violence in the world, by criminals, are just getting worse.

25 years ago, in Sweden, a murder would hit the newsposters stands, now the 10-20 people being shoot or killed every day, hardly makes but a small notice in the papers.

In general we have low criminality.
I really cant imagaine the rest of the world and the safty in the streets of USA/UK/RUSSIA or anywhere else.

I might have some liberal thoughts, but when it comes to guns, I do not agree. Every man should have the right to protect himself, his loved ones and his property.

Hehe, this board has gone into gun thread overload since about 2 weeks ago. :lol

BTW Toad - I just got back from a walk in Howe Woods - part of the Chiltern Hills, where there are often guys pheasant shooting in season. I could hear the gunfire today about 2 miles away. No idea what was being shot at though.

I sincerely hope you're using a browning o/u for that pheasant work...it seems correct, somehow.

Nope. An SKB 585 Sporting Clays O/U.

For some reason those Japanese designers made the drop at comb and heel, length of pull, cast almost exactly to my required measurements.

As a result, it's the only "off the shelf" gun that fits me like a custom.

It such a wonderful thing to be able to walk into a gun store and buy a O/U that literally "fits like it was made for you". I like a gun that shoots where I'm looking without any real effort to make it do so.  And to get one for ~$1300 at that!

I have a single shot Baikal, 12 gauge, 2 3/4"
Nice narrow spread.
For high alt seagulls, I use 42.5 grams BB :D

Of course I run ito other gunners all the time.

Yet, in my whole country, there has not been a gunmurder in years.
But again, we have no permit for conceilable weapons, at all.

(exception police and one shooting club)

So, there are hardly any handguns around, that's the good part.

My point is therefor that the best position to be in is with very few conceilable weapons around.
If however there are many many in the hands of all possible people, well, then everyone will need one.

Oh, and for the end, guns don't kill people, the bullets do :D

yes, I have one of thoose as well, cheap guns, very sturdy and best of all, they handle the steelloads well (lead ban). And, I dont have to be to affraid of dropping into the rocks or in the ocean. I paid 20 euro for mine. Got an S/S and a O/U from same manufacture, Baikal. But I never waste a 42 gram shell on a seagull. Skeet ammo kills them.
Death to the seagull and to the crows *flaptrash*!

That's interesting; seagulls are protected here. It's against Federal law to take them.
Title: Guns
Post by: lazs2 on January 12, 2005, 02:26:35 PM
yep... against the law to shoot a seagull.

angus... so that we get this straight... you feel it is allright for everyone to own at least three longguns or... just you?   is it handguns you are afraid of or concealled carry?

you really do need to do a simple search on the number of convicted wrongful deaths in the U.S. commited by the millions of legal concealled carry permit holders.

You will find that your fears are womanly and based on faulty "common sense" and hysteria.

oh... and we need to look at who is starting all the gun threads on this board.  It really isn't the pro gun rights guys for the most part.
