Simple question, how do you do what you do?
I'm finding it's pretty manueverable until it gets slow and then it's a bit sluggish... And pretty much I'm using 1 notch of flaps like it's a Pony. Bad idea?
I have a penchant for flying aircraft ways they aren't supposed to be flown and dying for it, so any tactics, by all means share :D

Poor man's Hellcat , kind of similar to fly but the Hellkitty just does everything better.
Stick with the Kitty Vudak !
PS Edit: I would possibly fly it more as there's a really nice RAAF skin , and it is kind of fun to fly, but I hate the vision under the nose, makes deflection shooting real hard after the Hellcat .

Actually I think guys like Oct and Stang to name a few destroyed whatever fun was possible in a P40 :( Now whenever I meet someone 1 v 1 they think I'm them and book it! :D

i fly the P40b alot.
P40E is just another dweeb ride, and if you going to fly it, just take a spit or a La7
basicly try to use the P40 ability to loose its speed and become a slugish POS in like 2 seconds to your advantage.
you need to be very aware of your E state all the time because as you said, if you get it too slow, it wont turn
oh, and use alot of flaps. ill say 3-4 notches when in a sustained turn.
i find the hardest oponents are the spit5s and hurricanes, those basicly do everything batter then you, so you really have to out fly them.

P-40 definitely not to be feared but definitely not to be underestimated either.

A P-40 with E is very dangerous. A P-40 without E is dead. Low-speed handling is mushy, with insufficient power to get it moving. Requires a lot of rudder to avoid snap-rolling out of turns when at the limit. However, such rudder use only bleeds E faster.
High-speed handling is excellent. Don't let speed bleed below 200 mph and you'll find that it turns very well. Use flaps only when needed, and only for brief periods, unless you are in a one on one with no other baddies nearby. In that case, you can dump flaps and maneuver as needed. If there are other baddies nearby, avoid getting it too slow as you are at extreme risk. Hard turning close to the ground without flaps presents the risk of an unwanted snap-roll. If you lack enough altitude to recover, you will auger. P-40s can be very unforgiving at the limits.

All excellent advice. I might add that it's a mistake to ever get into a circumstance where you need flaps, except possibly to get you over the top of a loop.
A useful and fun exercise in the P40E is to practice nose-low turns, rather than the nose-high yo-yos we're almost Pavlovian-trained to do.

Fear it, most definately fear it :D
Widewing's assessment, as usual, is pretty much right on.

Very Nice Widewing.
