My Dad had just had his right lung removed and is ICU. He has a 50% per chance of making it at best. I'm just asking if you have a few minutes tonight, even seconds... just add my Dad to your prayers. There is alot of power in prayers and I have seen them work before.
My Dad is Retired Navy, 28 years, a Chief with Gold Stripes.
Frederick Wrede, Sr.
Just if you can find a lil time please add my Dad to your prayers.
I'm Retired Army and if I lose my Dad the Army/Navy Game will never be the same. Fishing will never be the same, Hunting...nothing...just wouldn't be the same.
My 6 year old Son is worried about losing Pop Pop...
Family is so worried..Prayers.
Thanks for all that add my Dad to their prayers.
Mac

Its been 6 years since my mom removed her lung, and she is still in command of the family so dont you worry Mac :)
As some of you may know by now, she got cancer in the lung and they removed it and the lung.

Macca. I told you last night I was loading the prayer cannon. I've fired off a 21 gun barrage. He'll pull through, just have faith. I know last year's event might have you stumbling, but stand tall. Keep the faith.

I dont really do this, but I give you thought, Awmac.
My Grandmother had her lung gased (punctured, thats how they did it, way back then) when she was 18 years old, she lived untill she became 78 and she was very active+a smoker the rest of her life.
Wrede=means Wraith, you decend from Sweden? This is a typical ,old form, swedish "Soldiers" name.

Old Barvarian....During the Prussian Wars it's said that an Ancestor of mine rescued some of Europes prized horses from being slaughted. My Grandfather "Pops Pop" was from Breman, Germany. I spent 4 years in Germany while in the Army. I had alot of respect from the German soldiers due to my last name.
Seeker... now is not the time to launch personal attacks.

Way un called for .

Furby, RUDE, Curval and wombatt and all Thanks.
I should have an update tonight. My Mom is at the Hospital now.
I agree wombatt that was way uncalled for.
We all debate, pull each others chains or push buttons in here but when someone has a Family member hurt we all pull together like Family. That's what makes the O Club tight.
Just keep the prayers, waves and vibes coming.

Right on man.
I know at times I can be one of the most obnoxious jerks in the "O" club but there is a time and place for everything and this ain't it!
-
lol, an o'club family? The few things remotely linking o'club posters include whining, foot stomping, and *****ing in general .
50% is a good chance if anything. Better than 49%. Here's hoping he pulls through Mac.
-
Mac, I'll gladly send some prayers for all of you to get through this.
Now kiss and make up with Seeker. :D
I'll pray for him too.
-
Good luck Mac. I lost a brother and my favourite uncle in the run up to Xmas. I think your old codger still has a fair bit of life in him yet though ;)
Im not the praying type, so i'll join Beet1e in sending the good vibes across the Pond.
-
Glas I lost my Brother last year January 4th...tore a piece of my heart with his death...grieved for a long time and now this.
I hope you are doing well.
There's an old email I have called "I wish you enough."

AWMac,
Just saw this. Best wishes for your Dad's recovery!

*UPDATE*
Well we are passing the 37th hour and things are looking good. He is able to sit up for short periods of time. He's on morphine and other meds. Although he isn't entirely out of the woods just yet. Our biggest fears right now are blood clots.
He seems to have his wits about him, he's flirting with the nurses. Heh Guess you can take the man out of the Navy but you can't take the Navy out of the man.
The prayers, waves and vibes seem to be working, so keep them coming please. My Family and I greatly appreciate them all.
Will keep you posted.
Again Thank You all so much.
Mac
-
Mac,
Will keep the prayers coming for your father and family.
Hang in their, and keep the faith.

Glas,
:( No words to express my sympathy for you. I lost my brother in February of 2003. It is coming up on the second year, and I still miss him more than ever. A dual tragedy must be more pain than I can imagine. I will add you and your's to my prayers and pray that your family and yourself find acceptance, and that your brother and uncle find peace in their new life.
-
hows he doin mac?
-
He rested over night peacefully. He's a bit cranky, was never one to stay in a bed for long periods. My guess is he'll try to make a break for it. The Doctors and Nurses have been alerted to this fact. They have him covered. Nothing like seeing a one lunged, opened gown in the back, wrinkled assed Squid trying to make it out the front door. My guess is he'll give up the thought after 8 steps.
He's doing remarkable, but he also needs to listen to the Doctors too. He can be BoneHeaded I figured we can battle the fear and flee thingy with nurses and sponge baths.
He's doing better than expected, vitals are greatly improving, he's coming irritable and biyotchy..which is near norm for him. We have to watch out for blood clots now..That is a BIG prob.
Keep the prayers, waves and vibes coming please.
My Family and I thank you all deeply.

It has been done Mac and he will remain in my prayers. I know how it is as I lost my Grandfather (who raised me from birth) and was the only father that I had ever known. It is tough but I have this feeling that he will pull through.
All the BEST to you and yours!

ps.. It's really hard when a friend is in need and you don't know what to do for them. You've been a friend online for years.
-
*UPDATE*
Dad is moving about. They're making him walk a lil 4 times a day now. He's gettin really *****y right now which is a good sign. He demanded REAL food today LOL. Tomorrow they will move him out of ICU and into another room.... then later in a few days move him into a regular ward. All is looking good so far. They wanna keep him active and moving to prevent blood clots and pnamomia (sic).
But all in all I really believe it has been the prayers, waves and vibes that has made this a lil easier.
I thank you from my heart for all.

Done.
Give him my best, tell him it gets better...slowly.. but it does get better.
-
*Update*
He's now in a Recovery Room and out of ICU. Later they will move him to a Ward. He's getting more fussy than evar *good sign* But neavar complaind when it's sponge bath time, go figure.
He's still trying to flirt with the Nurses...There's something about a woman in uniform LOL Heh Navy Squids...
He's got the cushion pump wraps on his legs that keeps the blood flowing through the legs. Still we worry about blood clots and phnomia (*) But the medical staff are keeping him active, making him get up a walk a few feet 4 times a day...that's when he really let's the Sailor language fly LOL. Vitals are doing really great. All in all, Poop Deck Pappy seems like he's gonna make it.
My Family and I greatly appreciate the prayers, waves and vibes sent out our way. just keep them coming for a lil more time if that isn't to much to ask. You guys are Great, I thank you all dearly.

My apologies for taking so long to read this thread. Our thoughts are with your family Mac. Remember, those old vets are much tougher than we can ever imagine.

*UPDATE*
Great news all...
First I wanna tell you all that my Dad is :aok He's finally outta the Hospital well before his time. I guess him being in the Navy 28 years put the salt and vinegar in his pisss. The 3rd day in ICU he was awake and demanding "REAL DAM" food...
LOL Then they Moved him later into a Recovery Room.. Makin him stand and walk a few feet 4 times a day. He biyatched about it but handled it the best he could. He was supposed to end up in a Ward for a week or two but he told them to stuff it he wasn't having any of the Ward Crap...
How do ya argue with a Senior Chief...Hell he's got barnackles on his arse and farts smell like bildge water. I really think they let him go home early because he was flirtin with all the Nurses. All in all he sees the few last years ahead of him and he doesn't wanna slow down quite yet...good for the 'Ol Squid.
I want to thank everyone that offered prayers, waves and vibes for my Dad, my Pops, my Buds for his success and speedy recovery.
My heartfelt feelings go out to each and everyone...Thanks for being there when I needed you.
Greatfully Humble,
Frederick Wrede, Jr.

Good to hear it, it's nice to have some good news on here for once...
All of the BS we talk about on here, seems rather inconsequential when it comes to real life issues...hang in there.
