In Top Gun, there is a scene in the movie where F-14s are training against the aggressor squadron over the desert. Lots of canyons and cliffs. Just taking that scene for what it is, that was some awesome footage.
I was thinking it would be neat to recreate it in Aces High II (with the same music used in topgun.
For the F4U, I was thinking either the F4U or the P38. The F4U is the great great grandad of the F-14. But the P38 is twin engined and looks more like the F-14.
For the 'migs', I was thinking either an La5, or maybe a Spit 9. Or even a P40e.
Any suggestions?

Not quite sure if you are being serious or not Kurt. But if you are I think you are being a little harsh.
Personaly I think any film or movie someone does as a "tribute" to the game we love and play is a good thing.
I played around with AH films and made a couple. They're alot of work, or can be. As good or as bad as they come out its always admirable when someone does make one.
Films like the one Nopoop made for Wldthing and Levi are my personal favorites. They aren't staged, they are action packed, full of great flying and are backed by some killer music.
On the other hand, if you've ever seen Stream's films. Then you've seen I think the pinnacle of movie making.
He can throw a short 30 second clip together that'll make your jaw hit the floor. And thats only the begining.

If anything, the Great Great Grandad of the F-14 is the F4F Wildcat, Great Grandad being the Hellcat, Grandad would be the Bearcat and the Old Man would be the Twin TigerCat.
The Cousin that made a decent living and was always smarter was the Prowler, not to mention its dumber but better looking older brother, The Intruder. Who's Family can be traced to Ole man Avenger.
:D
The Grumman Family Tree.
