Anyone live in the Fort Worth / Arlington area?


I will be in the area Tuesday (18th) late evening til Thursday morning early...

If any of you fellow AH'ers want to meet up at a pub and let me buy the first round, post it here, or drop me an email @

Bodhi, the cool thing about Texas is that nobody is really far from wherever you may be .


I was all over Texas last year....for at least a month.....nearly every corner of that state. It's funny....when I would look at a state map of Texas and see somthing that looks like 1/4" on the map.....I'd tend to think it's not far away.....but I think Texas maps use a different scale :)

Bodhi - I'm about 2.5 hours south.

If you like big hair, bar fights and just general oddities of nature - you should check out the Forth Worth Stockyards while you're there. Lot's of totally ridiculous picture opportunites. Of course Billy Bob's...lmao (freaking huge country bar/dance hall).  You'll be sure to find a good accent there.

Joe T's Mexican food (N. Commerce?). Hopefully the weather is decent where you can eat outside on the patio. Usually lots to look at on Saturdays - if ya know what I mean.

An funky old place is the Hidaway in Ft.worth. Like walking into a 70's TV show lounge. Lots of stone and dark wood / windows.

All depends on where you're staying. Downtown and sundance square have lots of bars/dining places. One thing about Downtown Forth Worth - It's really clean. At least compared to Dallas/Houston downtowns.

Also - It used to be the Coutyard by Marriot Downtown, but I think it changed names -  Anyway, thats where all the American Airlines stewardess's stay. Just FYI.

Don't know much about Arlington. But remember these words: The Clubhouse. If it's still there....

Bodhi, your comin at a great time. The Ft.Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is starting today and runs thru the first week of Feb. BIG party every night at Northside. :cool: Filthy McNasty's, The Cadillac Bar and The White Elephant (where Butch and Sundance had their famous pic taken)are the place to be. Cowgirls out the wazoo. Oh yeah, if Country ain't yer thang, J&J's Blues Bar is a must. It's just a couple blocks west of downtown.
