Hi all.
This is my first ever skin attempt. It's based off of the aircraft that Aubrey had requested a skin for, the B-24J "Chief Wapello". As far as I know, it's "done" and I'm going to submit it. However, I wanted to throw this out there to you guys for any opinions you might want to fire at me for things to fix before submission. It was done from scratch, so I'm sure that there could be a think or two I got wrong. lol. Here are a bunch of screenshots. The first 2 pair are pictures of the original, and mock ups of mine. The last set is just regular ole untouched (but cropped) pics.
Hope you all like it.

Also a special thanks to the guys at Synergy for putting up with me posting pics every day and asking them to look at them. heheh

It looks wonderful! If its your first skin (I think I read that somewhere) you're already ahead of me. :)
The only thing I see is that on the bottom, the olive camo stretches too far on the skin and gives a double effect on the bomb bay doors. Look at the picture you have of it and you'll see what I mean.
-
Yeah, I see that too. Dang.
I'll touch it up. Should be easily fixable by just moving the underbelly paint a bit.

  wow WTG on ur 1st skin!!!1

Thanks thebest =)
Just a screenshot showing I fixed the bomb bay door coloration. I also slightly altered the R5 markings on the side.

If thats a first skin, you have a bright future skinning planes in AH!
Looks great!
The only thing I'd try is lessening the opacity of the light panel lines, so the over all appearance is one of dark panel lines rather than light-colored ones. Compare the panel lines in the first to images above to see what I'm talking about - the photo has dark panel lines, but in the screenshot, the light panel lines are very visible.
Another tip is to use the 'outer glow' feature on the panel lines to give sort of a dirty, weathered appearance around the panel joints. I use 30% or so noise, and adjust the opacity for a subtle effect.
Great job!

Great suggestions Oboe.
One of my squaddies also said to make the panel lines a little "less obvious", so I'll do that and you're idea about the outer glow sounds great. I'll check it out.

Great looking skin !!!
Not sure if you haven't gotten around to this yet but ... I think it needs to look "used" a little bit more. The weathing underneath looks good, but the top looks too pristine.

nice

Well, it was already weathered, but I've completely redone the weathering and scratches layer, and also created a "repaired panels" section with slightly off colored panels as if one was repaired due to battle and such.
Thanks for the advice. I think it came out a bit better. And with this, I'm submitting, so consider these finals =)
