It just looks wrong to me...  nice try but I guess there is no big water in Texas since it looks like I'm flying over a super sized puddle.  Real waves that size just don't look like that at all.   The spacing and chop just is way too tight for ocean swells and rollers.

Well I think it's nice too :)

Of course I don't use it for performance issues, but it's nice that people can enjoy it if they'd like to.

With all respect for HiTech and co. for the work that they put into it, but to me it looks really nice up close....

...but far away it looks like someone has got a blue background in MS Paint and gone over it with the airbrush tool

Water looks cool.
I have it turned off though as I find it too distracting

just a quick jab..>

I fully respect that they put the work into implementing the feature but I had to turn it off for the reasons I put above.  It just doesn't look right even though it looks "cool".  Down low it looks like pond or bucket ripples that are massively exaggerated which is not what one would expect out of real water in that scale.  What would be appropiate would be swells with rollers near shore since there is no wind to create whitecaps down low. The real problem I'm having is with alt.  As I get higher up the reflections turn into white "noise" much like a TV without a signal.  I have a 9800 pro with the latest Omega drivers so I'm guessing its an implementation issue rather than hardware deficiency on my part.  Thats the pity of the feature.  They put the effort into rolling out a potentially significant eyecandy feature only to have the most turn it off because it not right.  Again, nice try, appreciate the effort but its just not worth it for me and all of my squad mates because its more of a distraction and eyekiller than the eyecandy it was intended to be.

i guess depending on what body of water your on, along with the day will determine what a the water will look like.

take for instance that atlantic, ive translanted four times and it always looks dark blue, but when you get into the med, it's a lighter shade, with some beaches with crystal white beaches and green water.

hyfia isreal has green water, and hundreds of thousand of jellyfish

I think we are more talking about the wave action and reflections of the sun than the color of the water which is based on the depth and some of the things you mentioned.

and I would like to make clear that I was baited into this thread by the title.  I guess WoW means wow!  not Whip em out Wednesday..<

I think when you fly into the water you see fishies and mermaids should wave at you. And when you fly into the ground you should get attacked by mole people and killer ants. I also think seagulls should fly into the planes and you should be able to wave to each other. There should be rainbows and butterflys. In other words whaaaaaaaa the graphics are fine. Just my opinion

We getting a little greedy I think.

I know realism is important, but dang is seems with every little flaw there is a corresponding lynching.

This is the best game I have ever played, period. It is equivelant to a somebody giving you a brand new lamborghini for $100 per month and then complaining that you still can take a hairpin turn at 140 mph.

I say enjoy what the game does offer and do more bragging and less *****ing.

My only point is that I turn it off for the reasons I explained.  They can feel free to leave it as they want and I and it seems most others will continue to leave it off because it hinders the experience more than it embellishes it.  I have no expectation that it will be modified nor do I demand it.  You mistake constructive feedback for flat out complaining.

Great point rabbit.

First, I was not being specific toward your comments. I was just commenting on the general nature of users and how they usually provide feedback.

I agree 100% that we should say the water is not perfect...it needs this or that...but there are a lot of people who give the impression the visual experience seems to cause them some personal emotional problems :)

Sorry if I seemed to direct comments at you, it was unintentional.

It's not that it causes them emotional problems.  Rather, it just brings those problems to light.  Like most things in life how one interprets ones experiences is often more than the experiences themselves.  I do my best to provide honest points of view whether they be true or not.
