My two teenage kids went on and on about this movie, so I finally sat down and tried to watch it.
I just couldn't do it. My gawd this has to be one of the worst movies ever made.
Anyone actually sit through it?
-
It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be or as good as I was told it would be.
-
It's next on my netflix list. It LOOKS funny because... well... I recognize certain aspects of the character I saw in the ads. Like Beavis & Butthead, my hope is that I'll enjoy it because the character is an exaggeration of personality types I've dealt with.
Of course, not me. A friend. Yeah, a friend.

That's the right idea. All the characters are just so independent of reality that its just absurdly funny.
Its funny in the same fashion as "King of the Hill". The characters don't tell jokes, they are jokes.

(I think everyone can tell I love this movie :o)

Did you think it was terrible because it had no plot(resemblance of a plot begins halfway through the movie) or simply because it wasn't funny. I may have immature tastes but I thought it was hilarious. Maybe I'm just amused easily.
-
awesome movie
-
Great movie, couldn't stop laughing.
-
I liked it but my wife found it hilarious. She's a school psychologist and said many of the kids she works with reminded her of Napoleon.

Lack of plot was part of it. That, and I didn't think most of it was funny and it was just so damn slow. Oh well... I think I'll go feed my llama.

I am with Sandy..
just was not funny.

Post Impact is pretty bad.....
Only thing good was the good looking chick, or chicks, and the tits... I only watched it to the point they decide to go outside in the -54°C cold with just a sweater pants and a reletivly light jacket, and a ski mask..
-
I enjoyed it. You have to admit, you know SOMEONE that was like that in school...
-
I dont remember that part in ND Hawklore....
-
Hmm, I thought it was hysterical.

i'll probably hate it, then again i hated dumb and dumber, american pie, scary movie 3 (or whatever was "supposedly" the funniest), and pretty much that whole genera of movies aimed at portraying "teens"

To be honest, I don't even like most of the movies I liked as a teen.

My sister brought home ND and "Garden State" the other day. Napolean Dynamite was funny at times. "Oh he's just jealous cuz I've been talking to this super hot chick online like allll day" :rofl and the dance scene was possibly the funniest one I've seen yet.
OTOH, Garden State was hilarious. It actually has a fairly deep plot, and there are plenty of actually funny jokes in it. It's another one your teenagers will probably be bringing home soon, and I think there's a much better chance you'll like it.
-
If you didnt like those JB73 you probably wont like this. It has alot of gag humor I would say.
-
ND is a rollercoaster ride of sorts. I went and saw it in the theater and was wondering why the hell I paid money for it until about 30 minutes into the movie. That's about when you get the feel for the characters and it all just seems hillarious.
-
If it had Elvis fighting zombies, I'll netflix it.

On a completely unrelated note, have you seen Bubbahotep yet?
-
I STILL hold SOB responsible, yes. :(
-
Hehehe...I'll get those other movies in the mail to ya too Creamo. Leprechaun in Space is a winner!
-
Maybe Sandman doesn't get it because he's too busy training to be a cage fighter?

If you can find it... wasn't that banned for having a certain underage actress?
(I know way too much about this crap!)

"wait, i forgot the crystals"

One of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time.
"pegasus Xing"
-
It was flippin sweet. We did pretty much the exact same thing with the He-Man doll. Except we used 12 inch rubber wrestling figures (e.g. Iron Shiek). Sure enough on the commentary the director admits he and his brother did it with the 12 inch rubber wrestling figures too.

Yesssssssssss

Got home from work lastnight tired as hell at about 1030. Needed to veg so I popped this movie in and watched it. I haven't laughed this hard since "There's Something About Mary". Uncle Rico throwing that steak at Nap had me crying I was laughing so hard. And that quick cut of Nap standing there in front of the lockers and getting shoved into them...PWN3D!!!!
"Sorry I don't have my checkbook. I guess I'll pay ya'll in change."
Happy Hands Club...OMFG!!!!
:rofl
-
I have to admit... during a parent/teacher conference yesterday, the teacher said something about "skills". I immediately thought of Napoleon, looked up at my son who thought the same thing and both of us tried very hard to suppress the laugh.
"You know, like nunchuck skills, bowhunting skills, computer hacking skills... Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills."
-
Yeah, and don't forget his mad drawing skills, "Probably the best drawing I've ever done."
"What are you going to do today, Napoleon?"
"Whatever I want, GOSHHH!!!!"
-
"Your all just jealous cause ive been online chatting with babes all day"
Personally I think what made the movie was that alot of people watched it and went, "hey I remember those days in high school", or "I remember a kid" like that or in some cases "hey I was that kid". I loved it and my father loved it also, he called me just after watching it and was like, "hey guess what I just watched a movie all about you"
-
It was a pile of crap. Unfortunately, it's the most quotable pile of crap ever. I laugh more reciting lines than I did while watching the dumb thing.
-
I had friends raving about this flick.. maybe they overhyped it... it had funny moments but didn't blow me away.
Watched Eurotrip about the same time and thought it was much funnier.
I did her on his birthday.
Found the mp3 on the internet and burned it. hehehe
-
Scotty doesn't know! lolol. Eurotrip is the best movie EVAR!!!!
Shawn of the Dead is good to. Me and my g/f both thought it was pretty stupid (I thought it was stupid in a good way, her in a bad way)... but then we'd just randomly say funny **** from it.
I might have to rent ND.. I've heard it is awesome from several people.
-
Urch I'll email you the mp3 if ya want. It was rather tedious, for me, to track down. Hehehe

Sent SOB. :)

Man I been laughing again just reading this. I didnt know what to make of it at first, but I just about choked to death laughing at the "a freaking 12 guage" scene.
My sons and I watched it back to back. My GF couldnt get over feeling sorry for Napolean. She thought it was mean that we kcpt laughing at him.
-
Oh, I've had it for a while lol. It was kind of tough to track down, I'll give you that.
-
Its better the second time around believe it or not, and I thought it was brilliant.

I have to say that it was the worst movie I ever watched, and a complete waste of time. I agree with Tarmac though. Hearing people quote parts of the movie when silly situations occur is priceless. It is the funniest movie to talk about, but a drag to watch. I can't explain it either.

I've been showing up for "pick up" where we get all the new trainees and they still have their hair and are in Civis and I have to say there's usually about 1 or 2 males in each and every group that's a mouth breather and has curly hair. I usually nickname them napoleon but the name loses it's luster after their first hair cuts.
