Why is it that the A.I. controlled ack only hits if your maneuvering?
I would think that a plane not maneuvering would be the one that would be hit most likely.
Yes I've been killed alot by this stupid ack....2 or 3 times a day, every day for last three days. What the heck is going on? Is this a product of the poor connections we have been having lately?
The A.I. ack around airfields never hits me when I'm running slow and level in a bomber group. It only seems to find me when I'm maneuvering to make myself a hard target to hit in a much smaller plane. To make matters worse, it'll hit when your getting close to being outside visual range of the base...but NOT when at the base (over 3k). This means that half the time it hits is when you're RTB, which is quite irritating. This really sounds about backwards to me, or am I just confused?
This is a bit of a rant, but also I think a legitimate question. I'm aware that it has been brought up many, many times. I just want to reinterate the point.

never happens here...seems like some people are ack magnets

Never used to happen to me either.......until I posted something in reply about puffy ack....hmmmmmmmm

Please see the thread 'Puffy ack request' on the requests forum.
They say the ack surrounds you when flying and stays with you.
As soon as you start manoeuvring, you manoeuvre into the ack.
If you don't manoeuvre, it's more likely you will not get hit. (however this sounds not very logical)

I saw that thread....I wanted ownership .... and closure for my own tragic situation.:D

Nice theory. The only times I have EVER been hit by puffy ack are when I'm in a fighter, flying level on my way to somewhere else and just happen to pass in range of the puffy ack from a base or CV. Its very rare though, so I really cant complain. Its my fault if I'm too lazy to plot a course around it. I can count the number of times I've been hit by it on my fingers without using any more than once. I'll take the risk. :)

You don't ever get near enemy bases?
I've never been hit flying level in a fighter...only when trying to squirm around to avoid being hit do I take a hit. I think that's a little backwards.

Just fly level and straight and not too fast. It only becomes an issue when you have a bud guy on your six but that does not happen very often :D

I meant exactly what I typed. If your experience is just the opposite, it only proves the randomness of the whole thing. It also punts your theory that you only get hit if you move around. ITS RANDOM. You just got the unlucky roll of the dice is all.

I took 2, 1 shot kills from field ack not manned ack one time, needless to say i quit attacking that base.
