Eraserhead by David Lynch.
All I have to say is Thank God I don't do acid. If I did, I'd probably never get out of a trip after seeing this movie.
Anyone else seen it?
....In Heaven.....

Rent "Vulgar".
-
the "warlock" music video was pretty warped
dont even try finding it, you will be glad you didnt.
;)
-
hmmmmm.....
I still have to go with ISHTAR
It disturbed the hell out of me....LOL:lol
-
The only thing that disturbed me about Eraserhead was that I wasted time and money renting and watching (a portion) of it.
-
"Threads"

Agreed. I'd have to say it's the weirdest movie I have ever seen in my life. And one of the most depressing.
BTW John Nance, who played the lead character, is listed in IMDB as dead - homicide. I wonder if a gun was used. Ooops - off topic. ;)

trust me, acid wont cause you trouble unless you take it in a graveyard on halloween with only three people and a full moon.
i was young and sensitive, i never really came back that time......
for a slightly more 'earthy' trip, boil up some 'speacial' mushrooms into a tea pot and add sugar.
lots of sugar.
-
I remember seeing that movie a long time ago.
Very disturbing movie indeed, I am still not sure if I understood 1% of it.
Another disturbing movie is: "The crying game".
-
I saw the original Alien in the theatre as a kid.... creeped me out big time.
also saw the Wall, for the first time, in a theater. I was completely stoned... man what an amazing experience.

I too saw the orginal Alien in the theater as a child. Watch that movie peeking through my fingers the whole time and was tramatized for months after.

Ya Sunking! I couldn't put my feet on the floor! lol

For weirdness, try "Un chien andalou" .. its a short movie by Salvador Dalí made in the twenties.
Not as depressing as Eraserhead but very disturbing..
-
Actually it was directed and co-written by Luis Buñuel. Dali is credited as co-writer. But yes, it is disturbing indeed.

Oops, indeed. I only had a faint memory of "something Dali". Prolly a good marketing move back then as well. :)

"Kids" was extremely disturbing.
"Faces of death" is pretty bad too, but more of a snuff film/documentary.
-
Frontline's 120 minute documentary on Rwanda.
-
I was tramutized by Jaws.. As a small child I lived in Tennessee and had nightmares of a crane dropping my house in the ocean and sharks swimming in my bedroom..
-
Pink Flamingos deserves a mention, particularly the fat women in the babies play pen, and the chickens and the things done to chickens....in fact that film haunts me to this day.
-
I kinda agree with Killnu. 8mm was kinda disturbing.
I'd also have to add Sleepers as well.

After Cease To Exist
With a soundtrack by the ever-disturbing Throbbing Gristle, and the very slow, methodical castration scene, this is probably the most disturbing movie I've ever seen.
The worst bit really was that with weirdos like TG involved, you can never be really sure that the castration wasn't real...
Kudos to TG for producing the wickedly misnamed "20 Jazz Funk Greats" LP, though: complete with awful 70s easy-listening Jazz band cover, one can only hope that somewhere a copy still lurks, badly-catalogued in an easy-listening section, waiting for a unsuspecting buyer in search of shopping and lift music...

i got to agree with that one, the word "devine" has never had the same meaning since that horrible movie.

I've always thought the movie se7en(seven), with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman, was quite disturbing. I will never forget that ending.
