As it remains my duty to provide y'all with the occasional 5 minutes worth of distraction, I have an updated page.
A couple weeks ago I mentioned I had put a camera on my tank and sent it under the house to explore. Well, I finally got around to posting some pictures and video of the adventure that you might find somewhat entertaining.

If any of you decide to do your own robo-archeological expeditions, be sure to share.

HUZZAH! Now all you need to do is disassemble the tank and install rheostats so you can lower the speed to a less breakneck pace.

Excellent read Chairboy, thanks :)

Hi there Chairboy. Turns out I've been trying some of these cameras while studying a bussiness relationship with a chinese company, and I think you may want to try this model:

You can find it cheap in ebay and the low light characteristics are phenomenal.
Daniel
Edit: D'oh! Fenomenal

"X years of grease and yuck have accumulated where the stove has sat (apparently undisturbed) for decades. What's this? A calendar with a campaign slogan on it? What does 'We Like Ike!' mean? That little wrench is probably all that's left of a repairman that fixed something in the 1970s..."

Is this a ring of IR LED near the lens ?
They don't have a good (or perhaps not at all) filter in front of the captor :)

It is a ring of IR leds and a photoresistor. It does overexpose people in close range, but for most uses, the results are surprisingly good.

"that train track under the tank is for trains"

I was pretty sure it was a ring light as it's pretty difficult to have performances in low light condition with a lens having a frontal diameter so small.
Just look how huge is a 50mm/f1
like the noctilux :
