Some time when the river is ice ask me
mistakes I have made. Ask me whether
what I have done is my life. Others
have come in their slow way into
my thought, and some have tried to help
or to hurt: ask me what difference
their strongest love or hate has made.
I will listen to what you say.
You and I can turn and look
at the silent river and wait. We know
the current is there, hidden; and there
are comings and goings from miles away
that hold the stillness exactly before us.
What the river says, that is what I say.

The frost
The twilight
Slow music of snow
Beneath the depth
of bleached-blue sky
The puffs of whiteness
The frozen smoke
Over
my wooden cabin
all aglow
Amid the forest
The fireplace is softly telling lies
Do gently open the door to your hope
You've learnt the magic
Don't think twice
Taste the champaign of fresh cool air
The frost, the twilight, not the despair
I wish you enjoy the delights of the show
Slow music of snow
Slow music of snow ....

Half-wracked prejudice leaped forth
"Rip down all hate," I screamed
Lies that life is black and white
Spoke from my skull. I dreamed
Romantic facts of musketeers
Foundationed deep, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.
