it's ugly :)
Is it driver related ?
Or is it option related ?
I've the latest omega for an ATI 9600 pro 128 Mo.
-
i also have those wierd geometric shapes.
-
Same here. Seems to me its happening on steep areas of the terrain.
-
I have the same problem. First thing that'll be asked is if everyone with the problem is using Omega drivers. Two so far, myself included.
-
I thought u were going to post a pic of my wife in the kitchen. :p
-
When you say "latest" version of the Omega drivers, which version is that? 5.1 is out now.
Sorry, that 5.1 cat release is NOT an Omega. ATI has released the 5.1.
-
Omega 2.5.97a based on catalist 4.12.
SA2 have you this artefact ?
if no what driver version are you using ?
-
I do use Omegas Straffo, but I dont use ATI. I use Nvidia.
-
I've noticed that these show up where trees should be and act like wrongly portrayed shadows.

So it's perhaps ATI specific ?
-
No it's not ati specific. I have a Nvidia geforce fx 5200 ultra and I have them.
-
No Omega drivers with Radeon 9600 256 MB.
-
Showed them with both GeForce 4 MX440 and FX5200

Do you have your vertical sync set to always on? If not you should try that.

You still see 'em w/ vsync on. I have noticed that this shows up in my shift f4 ground view, but I can toggle back to another view like short (sft f3) or full (f1) and it goes away.
I think I usually only see that artifact when in ground view looking for gv's.
Try moving to a diff. viewable distance, and see if like me it goes away.
(edit) nividia fx5200 here w/ omega

Never mind, I have them too. I guess I just never looked hard enough lol. I noticed they only appear when the "distance" is close enough for the ground objects to be drawn. I have my bottom slider for visible ground objects or whatever it says set to 3 miles (max distance). I can actually see a line rolling across the ground as the detail level changes and things come into that range. I watched last night as a group of these artifacts came into view, right behind the detail line. Outside my 3 mile line there was no artifact, inside it they were there.

All my slider are at default position in AH and I've Vsync enabled.
I think the problem in AH.
