Hello everyone!
Today's snapshot is "Lights Out", a historical event on Kanttori's awesome FinRus terrain. The event starts in the Special Events Arena at 21 central european time, that is 3pm eastern time. Come to the arena 15 minutes early.
The event will be played without enemy icons.
During February 1944, the Soviet long range bombing forces, ADD, performed three heavy night bombing raids to Helsinki, the capital of Finland. The Soviet bombers were based at the airfields near Leningrad, where the Finnish reconnaisance planes spotted dozens of bombers in neat rows. As the Soviet bombers returned from their missions in the dark hours of the northern nights, the fields were fully lit. This offered a juicy target for the Finnish Air Force bombers, who boldly joined the Soviet bomber formations over the Gulf of Finland, followed them to their bases and bombed the fully lit airfields, as the ADD bombers were landing.
