I'm not sure what is wrong here but here is the situation:
I just receive my new Master CD to reformat my system. I went into the BIOS and went into the Boot sub category and selected First Boot to be the 'Lite-On" which is my CDrom. I also did the same in the CD boot section. I exited and saved and popped in the Master CD. Setup was going smoothe until it said it would be dangerous to continue setup, it could harm my hard drive.
I then did a system restore to an earlier point and tried to reformat from that point. Now it does not even load up from the CDrom in the BIOS. It just loads windows up as normal, and does not recognize the disk. Any suggestions?

You are starting the machine with the cd in the drive right? And doing a reformat is going to harm your hardrive because you are going to erase all the information on it

I want to start clean with a reformat though. This should be an easy task I've done it before, however this time it is not working.

What I meant is you can reformat by clean booting with the windows disc on the drive and it will give you the stuff right there off from the cd to reformat the hd clean and reinstall your OS. Not sure if I am helping or telling you stuff you already know just throwing out an idea.

Are you trying to reformat using the windows disk?
If youa re doing a reformat and reinstall -
do a search for killdisk
great program to wipe a HD

If you can boot off disk to a prompt, run fdisk and delete partition.
Easier if you can boot to a win 98 disk command prompt.
After you delete part and go to install xp it format disk, just make sure its NTFS part not fat32.
