Ariel Atom's are awesome.

For no frills fun, would love a Caterham Superlight or CSR too

Superlight: -

ENGINE:
   XPower 1.8 litre K-Series

My experiance with british cars it that they are really great once you pull the drivetrain and electrics and some suspension parts and put in American and german stuff.

Brit cars are really pretty.... well... till you showed a picture of that hidious thing.

we have these things called corners on our roads, if you can imagine your long straight roads but change direction frequently.... they are made to go round those ;) :D

corners are ok... they give you something to accelerate out of.

No no no.  Corners give you somewhere to get your knee down.

Honestly

GHAY!!!

How in the name of god can you get the wonderful feel of a chick stratteling you and holding on nice and tight when you give a little gas like you do on a street bike in that POS???

Chit, they can keep it. And I'll keep my gixer. ;)

If you rolled up to the local hangout with that thing around here the laides would laugh till they collapsed.

Oh one more thing....

"not as exciting as a bike... Yeah right."

Ever been up on 1 at 120mph? Please.

I equate this to someone buying an H2 rather than an H1 Hummer. Either go all the way or not at all.

Ok sorry. Im done. Bye
:)

120mph I could almost pull that in first gear with 5 more to go. Any monkey can ride a bike fast in a straight line on the highway. Racing on the track is the ultimate experience.

I've yet to try anything as thrilling and exhausting as racing a 600 or 1000cc  bike on the track racing solo and sidecards on dirt speedway is the same outstanding thrill.

Sidecars by far being the most dangerous.

Oh so the Indy 500 and all the F1 racing is BS in you're mind?

LOL there is a very good reason why Michael Schumacher is the highest paid athelete in the world.

Now to compare Motorcycle racing and car racing is silly.
Apples and oranges.

On the motorcycles you riders movements are very important as to weight transfer and the like.

To where in a car even if you could shift you're butt over I doubt it would make any difference in the handling of the car.

The where on the bike If done incorrectly you are most likely going over the bars in a nasty high side.

Now speaking of bikes I know they may not be the fastest around but I sure hope to someday get a Ducati.
I rode a friends and DAMMMM! them thangs handle.

But they aint cheap either $15K to $29K depending on wich one I want OUCH.

Oh well I will keep dreaming.

Ducati's are nice but for a V-Twin and that kind of money I'd rather have a Aprilia RSV-R

http://www.aprilia.com/models03/road/eng/modello.phtml?id=55

I owned a 00 model RSV for about 2 years before getting my K2 Gixer still one of the best and most fun road bikes I've ever riden.

I don't think that is a very good example furball... looks like something out of mitsubishi.    Maybe a bigger wing and the wheels anodized gold would help?

You got an aston martin pic?   Lotus 7 or morgan are cool too.

that is an Aston! its the DBR9 (race version of the DB9)  which is why it has the spoiler and is lowered.

I can imagine you liking this one Lazs, Jaguar XK180, they went back to traditional styling with the wrap round screen and raised behind the headrests.

Ok... if those are aston martins then... for the first time... I seen an aston martin that is jap ugly.  Like all the older aston martins... love to get my hands on one with worn out mechanicals and rip out the electrical and mechanicals.

You are correct that I like the jag D copy and the morgan.

That street bike wannabe POS has no function other than testical substitution.

Jealousy the most ugly of human traits.:D

The RC-51 won several superbike championships and was a great bike in it's time.

As far as the Go-Kart well it's the closest you can come to F-1 type acceleration and G forces in corners that I know of for less than $14k.

Try it before you judge it man It's a kick .

Been riding bikes since 1968 and racing them since 1972 so I have some saddle time.

Traffic and dodging cages on the freeway can be stessfull but when you get into a full on tank slapper at 120mph you get close to God very fast.

And yes It was stupid crap on a bike my mistake not the machines
but it almost cost me too much.

And skydancer if you have never "scared " yourself on a motorcycle then you either have never rode one or you ride a Goldwing on sundays to church.

Tank Slappers at 120mph what kind of bike was that and what were you doing to provoke a tank slapper at that speed?

Only bike I've had in recent years that did it when hitting bumps at speed banked over or sometimes even just a straight line was a 97 Suzuki TL1000S partially due to the geometry of the thing and that it didn't come with a steering dampner of any kind.

Great street bike though and fun on track days. Think on its year of release there was a slight peak in motorcycle injuries for the under 30's reminded me of the RG500. Unfortunetly after 97 they took all the character out of it.

well.... lotus suspensions are fine on light cars.   Bikes are hot and cold and uncomfortable and any fall causes the loss of skin.   You are at the mercy of people in cars and no matter what you say... you will fall down.   You will buy one telling the wife you will save money by riding it to work but after a few miserable days in crappy weather you will dread even getting on the damn thing in the fog or rain.   There are few ideal days on one and soon you realize that.  Most collisions with cars involve little or no damage to the car but major limb damage to you.   You will lie on the street bleeding to death while the soccer mom who hit you stays in the airconditioned minivan and uses the same cell phone she was on when she hit you to summon lifeflight.

most guys love of bikes ends after such an episode or even a bad fall where they lose  a few sqare inches of skin.

racing bikes is ok I guess if you are into that.   I don't even care to watch em.

Didn't the 02 or 03 R1's have a problem with tank-slapping? I seem to remember several friends getting steering dampeners(SP) after several close calls.

Mine was an 01 and yes they had a BIG problem with tank slappers LOL.

Don't know why but must have been the geometry or something.
A nice ohlins steering dampingner did the trick.
