How to tell your Monitor is toast:
1. You have your Monitor Brightness set to 100%
2. You have your Monitor Contrast set to 100%.
3. You have your in game AH gamma setting at 1.5 just to be able to see in the daylight.
4. You buy a 17 inch LCD monitor for your wife and hook up the old computer to it.
5. You fire up Aces high on the old computer and you ACTUALLY CAN SEE the tracers crossing at the convergence point and GOING BEYOND!
Solution:
http://www.newegg.com.... buy the NEC|22"CRT FP2141SB-BK that Skuzzy suggested.
I cannot squealing believe what a difference a monitor makes in the game (even on the new LCD).
ASUS SLI Deluxe
BFG 6800 GT OC PCI EX
1024 Corsair XMS PRO XLL
FX-53 AMD
(soon to be arriving NEC|22"CRT FP2141SB-BK )

Oh damn Balsy, that is a very, very nice monitor. I have the 19 inch version, but have been contemplating the move to the one you got and letting the wife have my 19 inch.
It is really hard to appreciate how good those FP series monitors are until you have it in front of you.

Thanks Skuzzy.... and further thanks for the recommendation.
And just as a further point... to all those players complaining about not being able to see tracers(theres a thread around somewhere)... its NOT AH's problem... I have a Dell 21 inch Trinitron monitor... but its 7 years old.
I guess the old gal is just given out.

"letting the wife have my 19 inch" - Skuzzy bragging/exagerating again :)
