Poor Johhny. I just watched an interview with a friend of his the other night. Said Johnny would watch late -night in primtime in California off of satelite feeds.
Said he would still scan the morning papers and send jokes into David Letterman at times. He missed having an outlook for his jokes.
Sad.

Damn shame.
I miss Carson on the tonight show.
It just isnt the same without him And Lenno looks like an amature compaired to him.
they did a great job when they replaced Parr with Carson. Too bad they didnt follow the same pattern on replacing carson

And there goes Johnny!
Who was the gal he had on and they were talking about sports and then she said she didnt like this one sport and then johnny asked her why and she said she "didnt like balls coming at her" and Johnny looked at the camera and his eyes sort of twinkled and everyone caught on at the same time! that was a lol experience ;)

David Letterman, late-night talk show host — written statement:
"It's a sad day for his family and for the country. All of us who came after are pretenders. We will not see the likes of him again. He gave me a shot on his show and in doing so, he gave me a career. A night doesn't go by that I don't ask myself, 'What would Johnny have done?' He has been greatly missed since his retirement. Thank God for videotapes and DVD's. In this regard, he will always be around. He was the best. A star and a gentleman."
