Title: Request for new key command/button command
Post by: Mugzeee on January 24, 2005, 10:37:16 AM
Im not sure what percentage of AH2 players are playing on a border line system like i am using? I have to run "Graphic Detail" to full performance to get smooth game play. Then when i dive in to attack ground objects GV,s and especially Ack Guns, i have to adjust the "Displayed object size" slider to full detail. This make my frame rate drop to 10's and single digits! This is really tough if there are NME fighters around because when i engage them before or immediately after i drop ord, it is extremely hard to fight with the screen freeze and stutters that occur with my graphic detail at this setting.
So here is the Request.
Would it be possible to add a "Key command" that would toggle between 2 graphic detail setting? Say like a "Primary" and a "Secondary" graphic detail setting?
"The Ground Vis Range" doesn’t address the ground based targets, FH, VH, Ack guns ect.
This way we could toggle between the two in an instant.
With HTC tweaking for performance in conjunction with Upgrading our systems the performance has improved greatly since AH2 release.
But this remaining issue isnt going to go away without yet another costly PC Upgrade.

A toggle Shift-F1/Shift-F4 could work no ?
If your joystick come with a programming software were you can add toggle ,you have a workaround.

Mugz I did that very thing since AH2 started--had to bump range to 3 miles so i could see acks/gv's...(frame of 9-10)..THEN..if i got jumped..pickle ord...put on autopilot..CHANGE the $#@%# settings back to minimum range (frame of high teens)...then die...go to hangar to get different plane; (finished building new box this week, that prob gone..heeh)
