too many guns, too dangerous.

Recruiters aren't armed.
Recruiters visit just about every school, high school through college, around the country.
Their job is to recruit, both actively and passively.

By denying someone else's right to free speech or by tearing up the recruiting materials?

What do you think would happen if those kids showed up in camp Pendleton and start protesting the war?
You know... When all think the same, nobody thinks...

Arrest them for vandalising government property.

I am sure the Marines at Pendalton would act like adults and let them protest.

these are true words of wisdom.
I say...people have the right to protest.
It's not shameful at all.
-
When stuff like that happens, you can tell the Army recruiter is laughing because he thinks the same way I think.
If he wanted to, he could drop every single person in that room combined with his bare hands.
-
I feel sorry for the poor guy.
And I highly doubt he could kick everybody's ass. He's not a Navy Seal.

Destroying the recruiting material and making the soldier leave is not shameful?
You're right.
It's Disgusting.

I dont see no infantrymans rifle above his breast pocket and i dont see no multiple clusters on his overseas service ribbon either. and he going to kick the whole rooms arse... (pic is too low res to make out much more than his national defense ribbon. and they give those away automatically)
and judging by the picutre 2 women standing behind him are larger than he.. even with distance perception (runt)
muhahahahha pencil warrior phear him..
looks pretty young for SFC too.. Recruiters if they make quota promote fast, must be nice...
A picture tells a thousand words to those in the know....

Had those same students tore up the literature of a gay rights advocate and run him out of the room… They would probably be expelled.

It doesn't take muscles to fight.
Plus we aren't talking about just people protesting.
These are pansie college students. They'll all scatter once the first 2 drop. (I've seen it before).

Been watchin just a little to much Rambo:rofl

LOL... Virtual tough guys beating up college girls in their mind... good stuff.
-
It's rather silly to harrass an Army recruiter as a protest towards Bush.
If Kerry had been elected that same Army recruiter would probably still be at that college.
-
Some of you guys are amusing with your "brain washing" comments and such. Please tell me how recruiters brain wash anyone?
They may not tell you every last detail out right but what business does? If you don't ask or do an extended research on the subject matter who's fault is it? Recruiters don't lie it's forbidden. If they do lie to you and you sign up it's a breach of contract and the contract is null and void. Nothing states they have to tell you every last detail though. If you don't know what to ask then your not prepared to make that kind of decision in the first place.
Seems to me that if so many of these young people are that ignorant and are easily "brainwashed" then maybe they deserve what they get. I'd still like to hear some of the so called brain washing stories though. Especially from the America haters that constantly spout off here.
-
It's definitely the community college "peace" protestor kids who are brainwashed. Trust me, I know, I have had had many intersting conversations and other dealings with them at my old school... Belive it or not some of them are even profesional protestors from groups like answer who go from school to school and protest or protest to stir up trouble and organize the movement. The shows they put on are hardly the sort of spontaneus expressions of youthful free speech that some of you imagine them to be..

That wasn't a mob... it's a room full of self-righteous part-time hamburger servers, almost certainly Liberal Arts majors with about as much personal direction as a one-oar row boat.
Anyone who would abuse someone else because they don't like what they represent is devoid of class, dignity and probably has issues with reasoning skills. Everyone of these people should have been charged with disorderly conduct and bounced from the campus pending a formal hearing.
Perhaps in an effort to encourage public civility we should re-establish legalized public dueling.... Naw, they'd never show up. :)
My regards,
Widewing

HAHA!
Oh, I'm going to hell for laughing at that.
You'd be surprised how many college students haven't ever really been in a fight. As much karate as someone claims to know, no one can stand after having their nose broken. Especially if you hit it again.
Take a look at David Akers during the Eagles game. He's one of the toughest players in the league. Yet someone's hand hit him in the nose and his legs damn near buckled trying to get to the sideline.
-
can anyone say Kent State? where is tricky Dick when we need him the most?:D

Things might have changed since the 1980s (I bet not) but I know recruiters have one of the toughest jobs in the Army. Not the most dangerous, but a demanding grind. I happend along two guys discussing it at one point when I was in the reserves and they were talking about guys intentionally going out of their way to flunk the piss test to get out of it.
All the stress of a salesman, but with none of the financial benefits that go with it.
