Title: Respect
Post by: Furball on January 24, 2005, 12:53:33 PM
I have always thought (apart from when i was new) that the quality of the fight in this game was the most important thing, I realised yesterday just how insignificant everything else in the game is apart from the respect between opponents.

to those that make this fun, thank you for keeping me hooked on this game.

There ya go. My thoughts exactly. Thats a main reason I like this game so much, The community..... There are a few dorks, but the majority here are a great bunch of folks. Enemy and friendly alike.

Do not know, I can't respect some of people in here. That bastage JOC seduce my sheep. Hajo steal and drink my vodka. Dantoo makes me losing my tigers... Thousands of them actually. They all are misarable people, they do not deserve my respect!

Fariz!  LOL

If you didn't leave the Vodka out where I can get to it....I wouldn't drink it!

Fariz.....you also make the game more fun.

"Furball" + "touch self" in the same sentance = big NO NO!

I didn't need that thought for the rest of the day thank you.

Fariz, Dantoo is still playing this game? By the time he's been here... he must be at least 100 years old! (Aka almost as old as Hajo!)

I suppose it is possible to earn respect within gaming communities but consider it as a flawed judgement criteria when used as.............

1) "I have no respect for this type of player............."

2) "I have no respect for folk who do this or that............"

as if folk who did not do 1 or 2 above automatically earned respect.........

I am always suspicious of folk who consider that their view on who to respect (or not) is the one that counts when it is only based upon activities seen in a gaming environment.

Fun opponents is what makes the game great , too many people miss this point.

A fun opponent gives you a great fight, win lose or draw, makes you want to  go back and find them on the map and fight them again, even if you know they are probably going to kick your ass.

Then you can even chat to them on private and compare notes or bs on 200.

The boring ones just make you want to fly on the other side of the map or puke  or play something else.

Anyway , that's how I find it.

P.S.  Furby you're one of the fun ones   ;)

You have to keep it in context - it's "game respect" usually , not like you necessarily want them dating your daughter ,  but you like playing the game with them.  That's how I feel anyway. Squaddies/people you actually meet , can become  different.

Specially if it's furbar - no way he's getting near my daughters    ;)

Heck, yes, he plays it. I have no idea how old is he now, and who of those two (Hajo or Dantoo) is older. They were both old when the Egiptians built their póramids, that is all I know about their age.

LOL Shubie wtf was chest thumping about what Redd said?  I think he was right on in what he said.  Redd's not the kind of guy who would do that, he just appreciates the guys who are willing to mix it up, who make the gaming experience of AH a much better one.  Hordes can't do that, but a little effort by an individual can.

I think Redd is referring to an incident where we kept running into eachother over a couple of days, and basically were talking on private channel about what happened what we did etc. Had some really fun fights.  Also made sure not to cherrypick eachother while having fun.

So i think your comment is a little off Shubie.

You would better write the list on a paper because with your old memory you won' t remember anything tomorrow :)

Did you notice you wrote Fariz name twice ?

PS :I sugest you write "kill list"  on top the paper
in case you forgot why you wrote the list :)

Straffo added to list....this might just take some work and brilliant strategy on my part.

Hmmmmmmmmmm...if it requires brilliant strategy it may take an extended period of time.

Just take a little more effort and time on my part.

But the end result will be worth it!

Strange hijak , when it's completely on-topic , relevant and completely in context with Furballs original post  (and yes does refer partly to some recent fun engagements we have had)

but also to other opponents where we have some great fights then end up chatting on private  etc There's many I can think of.

Respect between opponents was being discussed wasn't it ?

something that goes along with respect is honor.  Some players have it and some dont.  Just tonight i asked if some 5 bishops would be nice and let me rtb with out being molested.  They couldnt wait to up their 190's, ponys, la7s and F4Us to run me down for 15 miles and gang bang me like the "dog " i am but i guess they were a little miffed after killing 6 of them, 2 were made to auger.  So I lost a little respect for these guys cuz they had no honor.  I on the other hand would have shown mercy and let them RTB if they had asked, but thats just me
